Book Review: The Vampire Diaries: The Fury/Dark Reunion by L.J. Smith

The Fury / Dark Reunion (The Vampire Diaries, #3-4)The Fury / Dark Reunion by L.J. Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Okay...this one is slightly better than the first, mostly because Elena was halfway annoying in The Fury, but then she passed at the end, making it much, much bad to me, because Katherine is a terrible little shit ad I couldn't stand her, mostly because she acted like a child, was very different than the Katherine on the show. I mean, in the beginning of the book Elena didn't know who everyone was whens she was turned into a vampire, clinging to Damon and saying that he loved her, and before that she attacked Stefan-which, once again, I totally got. I would be doing the same thing if I was a newly-born vampire.

But once she got her memories back after reading her journal and went to her funeral, that's when the strange things started to happen to the animals, mostly the dogs. Then all of them (her, Damon, Stefan, Bonnie and Meredith) were coming up with a list on who is the Other Powers-and they thought Alaric Saltzman, the new history teacher, was one of them. (at that, I laughed), but he wasn't. Alaric was actually a psychologist who knew about the vampire attacks and had never met a vampire, till he met Damon, Elena and Damon.

So after they eliminated the rest of the people (Robert, and the rest of the people, including some others that I don't remember) and realized that the Winter Ball is that night, and they were going to find and fight whoever did it. When it turned out to be Katherine, I was honestly like 'Well shit," but no one, not one person, told me how crazy she was.

Like goodness, I thought Damon was gonna go through with the foolishness:

"Katherine," he [Damon] said. He was still smiling.
"Yes." she leaned closer.
"Katherine..."
"Yes, Damon?"
"Go to hell."-Damon Salvatore, the Fury, pg 221-222

But in the end, he didn't, and Elena killed her, though she had to die in the process.

But in Dark Reunion...whoo boy. That one was a trip, mostly because KLAUS WAS IN IT AND I THOTTED OVER HIM TILL THE SPIRITS TOOK CARE OF HIM. And then we find out that Tyler Smallwood's family are descended from werewolves, and I'm also glad that Stefan and Matt are friends now. Even though Klaus had to go bye bye in the end and Elena came back, I actually enjoyed myself reading this book in one day yesterday.

Book Review: The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening/The Struggle by L.J. Smith

The Awakening / The Struggle (The Vampire Diaries, #1-2)The Awakening / The Struggle by L.J. Smith
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Or: Elena Gilbert goes after one goddamn guy, making him her whole world and chasing after him like he did in the show, thus giving me a headache with all this running around until she got turned.

In the show Elena didn’t annoy me as much as I thought she would, but then I picked up this book again, something I haven’t read in a long time, read it…and hated Elena so much. All she did was chase after the new guy, Stefan Salvatore, when he came to Robert E. Lee High School. Soon murders started popping up almost everywhere, Stefan remembering a time when he “thought” he killed Katherine, and honestly…it was just sheer stupidity that makes me realize that I like Damon more than I like Stefan, who is just boring as hell.

Stefan, even though when I was in high school and I loved him to death…was also boing as hell. Yes he hunted animals and protected Elena from Damon, but I was like, can you do something else other than be a goody two shoes? Because I almost fell asleep reading this book. The only good thing about this book was Damon and how he pretty much toyed with Elena and Stefan in the second book.

But in all honesty, this was me at Elena the whole entire time:

Book Review: Sojourn, a Legend of Drizzt novel by R.A. Salvatore

Sojourn (Forgotten Realms: Dark Elf Trilogy, #3; Legend of Drizzt, #3)Sojourn by R.A. Salvatore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book three of the Dark Elf Trilogy...I enjoyed myself-this was a good book. It was slow at first, with him trying to get to know the Thistledown children before he had to hide, but then he avenged their deaths when the fucking barghest came, took the form of the drow (possibly him) and killed him with his own scimitar, and Drizzt and Guenhwyvar killed them (there were two), then he left the village to go somewhere else to live, all the while being chased by Roddy McGristle, whom I hated so much because all he wanted was to kill Drizzt and in the end he didn't.

We get to meet new characters-Montolio DeBrouchee, a blind hermit ranger who follows Mielikki, Burenor Battlehammer, and his daughter Catti-Brie. Along with other characters like Kellindil and Dove Falconhand, I honestly enjoyed this book so much (and can’t wait till next year to dig into the books I ordered and read the moment 2020 gets here). I enjoyed the book, the action was beautiful and I was happy when Catti-Brie and Drizzt became friends, even though she had to defy Burenor to do it.

I honestly didn’t like Roddy, mostly because he went after Drizzt, swearing up and down that he killed the Thistledowns (which wasn’t the case) and yes Drizzt cut his ear off and had to kill the dog because he attacked first while Drizzt couldn’t speak a lick of English. But to just put all the blame on one person instead of listening to reason, letting you go down this horrible road to Drizzt only to be turned away-that’s what you get, honestly. But I loved this book and I can’t wait to read more of this book series.

Book Review: A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3.1)A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well this book made me cry for some odd reason. I mean, it's short, and on top of that there is a preview of the next book (in which i'm ready for, even when she said that the next book is a Nesta and Cassian book, in which I scream very loudly. In my head) but among other thing, and I hate that this was a short book, it was filled with so much goodness.

Like Feyre and her opening a art studio on rainbow road for the people hurt in the war and I cried over that. Even when it looks like Elain was finally being happy with everyone, thanks to Nuala and Cerriwen (I can't write names), but staying away from Lucien. Even Morrigan trying her dangest to celebrate the Winter Solstice, even when they visited the Court of Night and she wanted to kill Eris and her father right then and there, but didn't. And Rhysand giving Feyre a house for all of them to live in, for her to decorate however she wanted-that made me cry the most.

The only bad thing that I didn't like from the book was Tamlin and his broodness and how torn he was FROM THE SHIT HE PULLED WITH FEYRE AND HOW FEYRE BROUGHT THE WHOLE SPRING COURT DOWN, and all the shit Nesta's doing. I'm was so mad at her for just doing what she was doing, and also that she slept with men before she even slept with Cassian (which for right now will never happen, but I WANT THEM TOGETHER, YEEZUS) but other than that I loved it.

Even when Rhys and Feyre had amazing sex to the point that it destroyed Rhysand that he probably couldn't walk for a while-he probably was sitting in a corner, sucking on his thumb calling for his mother before he went to visit Tamlin again. But I enjoyed myself reading this and now I wanna read more of this series (and also more Throne of Glass. Because I miss my hubby Rowan).

Book Review: A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOWAR) by Sarah J. Maas

A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3)A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Alright...this book right here....BROKE ME IN SO MANY WAYS.

I thought the wars in Game of Thrones were bad...I was waiting for nearly half my favorite characters to die...BUT NOPE NOT REALLY, THEY JUST GOT BROKEN TO THE POINT THAT I STARTED TO CRY WHEN RHYSAND DECIDED TO GIVE EVERYTHING AND DIE WHEN HE AND FEYRE FIXED THE CAULDRON.

I don't even know how to start this book review, to tell you the truth. From Feyre basically being a bad bitch and destroying the Spring Court, from Nesta and Cassian NOT GETTING TOGETHER, IN WHICH I NEED THEM TO, all three of the scariest people-The Bone Carver, The Weaver, Brayxsis (the one that scared Cassian to death) to this stupid-ass war with the King of Hybern. And the new characters-the High Lords of Dawn, Summer an Day (I believe) court, Drakon and Mariyam, Nephelle, Elain's ex-fianee, even Jurian from the last book. But this book broke me in so many ways that I cried, held my breath...this book has broken me in so many ways.

Also I'm glad and proud of the changes between Nesta and Elain, who stayed away from everyone, and then came into their own-Elain became a seer, Nesta became a little warrior. Even when Elain shoved Truth-Teller in the King's neck, I was proud of her, coming out of her shell and showing people what she can do.

But the one person that shocked me the most was Amren (I've written her name as Amren when I did the book review of ACOMAF, which is my bad), when she tricked Feyre so she could go in and destroy the Hybern army, turning into a huge bird (or fire drake or dragon), but she came back as a High Fae.

Also Feyre flew and I'm proud about that.

I love this series so much and now I'm going to start reading the novella, because I don't think these stories and these people, our family, if I can call them that, are over.

"To the stars who listen-and the dreams that are answered."-Rhysand

(also I feel like I'm giving a goodbye speech as I write this, but I'm not)

Book Review: The White Queen by Philippa Gregory

The White Queen (The Cousins' War #1)The White Queen by Philippa Gregory
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I gave this book a three out of five stars for reasons-one of them was the "yikes" when Elizabeth of York falls for her uncle, Richard III, secondly was that it fell a bit flat for me in the end and also of the fact that I wanted to watch the show that I watched as soon as it came out. But all in all, I honestly enjoyed this book, though there were some people I wanted to smack upside the head so damned badly-like George, Duke of Clarence for being the most stupidest man on the planet, Richard, for just being really...how can I put this...idiotic at the end.

Sure he was made Lord of the North and all, but good googly moogly son. All of that after King Edward died, and you wanna pull shit like that? Really? I honestly just shook my head and kept on reading, and each time I read it I got madder to the point that once it was over, it was over-I was done with the book, and I felt sorry for Elizabeth because she lost her sons (she may or may not have lost them) and then everything else that happened to her-Edward's whoring (in which I would threaten to cut his cock off if he ever did it again), the death of her father and brothers and son...it mentally hurt me to see her go through all of this and come out unscathed.

This is my second book that I have read of Philippa Gregory, and this book broke me in so many ways.

Book Review: An Affair Before Christmas

An Affair Before Christmas (Desperate Duchesses, #2)An Affair Before Christmas by Eloisa James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When you thought you did a book review on this book, but in reality you really didn't, and so you're about to do a book review now...

Soo hi, here's a book review about eight years too late when I first started reading this book, thinking 'Oh, I've read this book and it turns out...you fucking didn't. So this book was a fast read for me, mostly because I needed something to help me get over my Matthew Clairmont addiction, but in fact...it made it a tiny bit worse because of the fact that they went to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and I cried a little because it made me think of Matthew...BUT ENOUGH ABOUT MATTHEW CLAIRMONT....

This book was honestly a trip for me. It started off with Poppy and Fletch having a sexless marriage because of Poppy's overbearing mother...and yet once again, my problem with overbearing mamas telling their daughters what to do reared up big time and then Poppy falling out of love with the Duke of Fletcher because of her mama. So she moved out of her own home to live with Jemma (and honestly, lemme say this real quick: Jemma, Duchess of Beaumont, is giving me hella Lady Rosalie vibes and inspiration for her for my own Christmaswip-more on that on my blog later) and slowly she starts to turn into a Naturalist and finding her own self, letting go of everything her mama told her to do and just...be Perdita. Not a puppet her mother wanted her to be.

Fletch and Poppy kept thinking that they didn't love each other, they will forever be in a sexless marriage and will never have children. Fletch though Poppy hated sex, but it turns out that she listened to her damned mama about sex that she didn't even enjoy it...until that nigh at the Beaumont house, where Poppy started feeling those urges for him again, and decided to tell her friends that she wanted to seduce Fletch into bed like a Frenchwoman..well, after her mother went into a nunnery because someone thought that she was in love with a young man, then she felt those feeling for Fletch, and she seduced her husband like she was a Frenchwoman.

But the one odd thing in the story was the Duke of Villiers and his wound he got from the Earl of Gryffon, and how Miss Charlotte Tatlock pretty much brought him back to life, snapping at him and thinking he was dead and all...but all in all it was a really good book, even when Poppy and Fletch made love in a little bunny cave outside, I think? But it was really good and it gave me a lot of inspiration for my Christmaswip.

Book Review: A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1)A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book....this book, this book, this book. I thought when I first opened it and started to read it that it'll bore me to death, and I put it down. So when I brought it last year and this year decided to read it after watching the show...and I'm so glad I did. I couldn't put it down, even though I'm reading about three other books at once. But no one didn't tell me that I'd fall for Matthew Clairmont. No one told me that I'd cry over this book, over Bishmont and cheering for them. No one also didn't tell me that I was going to hunger for the next two books that I'm getting for Christmas.

But can we talk about Diana and her magic? Like good lord, woman-witchwater, witchfire, can knock people out of your mind-whoo girl. I wouldn't use it too if it'll attract a lot of attention from nearly everyone. And the book-the Ashmole 782...and how her dad enchanted it so she could get it...that was honestly brilliant.

And Matthew...god I can go on and on about my new husband (yes...yes I could. Because I wasn't supposed to fall for him, but I did...and now I love him and want to read more of him dammit). At first when Matthew appeared, I went "oh great, another Edward...yeah I hate you now." but the more I read the book to the point that I realize that yeah Matthew has some Edward Cullen-like tendencies, but then the more you know him, the more you realize that he's half (actually, he's better) than Edward Cullen will ever be. Sure he *tries* to boss Diana around, but I like the fact that Diana put her foot down and don't like sit back like Bella did in the Twilight novels.

(If it sounds like I'm bashing Twilight, I'm not...it's a comparison and honestly, I think I'm doing a good job comparing them).

I loved this book so much that I felt like I should just go ahead and get books two and three since I already have the fourth book (thanks, school). But before I do, we gotta talk about the bad guys-Peter Knox, who I hate so much, Satu...I hope she dies in a ditch somewhere, Dominico and Gellert or Javier or whatever his name is can go away...dammit.

Book Review: The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman

The Invisible Library (The Invisible Library, #1)The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've read this book before, but then I didn't finish it and I put it right on back, thinking that it was boring, but now that I picked it up again and read the whole entire thing, I actually loved it. Librarians going to different alternative universes to get books and bring them to the Library, a place where books are housed and stuff. Now this book introduces Irene, a Librarian who is looking for Fairy Tales by the Grimm Brothers, and is set to work with Kai, a newbie to the Librarians.

The alternative they're sent to is London, but not the London that you know and love. This London has zeppelins made in Liechtenstein (and also Liechtenstein is also a country in this book), Fae, vampires, werewolves, even alligators and stuff like that. When they get to this new alternative, they met a detective named Vale, a fae named Silver, and a group called the Iron Brotherhood. Does this sound like a D&D story to you? It does to me, and I enjoyed every single moment of it. It had mystery, adventure, and also it had a dragon in it (in which I sat up and said, 'well hello there, dolly!' (not in those terms though) But I'm glad that they got the book...

That had to deal with Alberich's story?!

WTF?!

But first, Alberich...he's scary af. Like he skinned a librarian alive just to walk around in in skin, and then took another woman's skin and nearly killed Vale, and when Irene used the Language to take the skin off...what was under it almost scared the living hell out of me, but then I was glad because Irene (and Bradamat, whom I thought betreayed the library and I was wrong and I started to actually like) and Kai helped stopped Alberich and now wherever he is, I hope he stays there (tis a lie, but a girl can dream) But I loved this story and I want to read more of the books, I really do.

Book Review: Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

Crazy Rich Asians (Crazy Rich Asians, #1)Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Crazy Rich Asians...what a book. It has everything in it-the soapy-filled drama of a soap, Gossip Girl and nosey, nagging mothers (at least, at my end)-and honestly? I enjoyed myself. I actually started wishing I was rich...without my curse of hating nosey mothers in almost every book I read (no, actually, I hate meddling mothers who don't want their children to be happy with the one they love). But the one part of Crazy Rich Asians I loved so much was (okay, yes it was the parties and the fashion and everything else) but it was Astrid's storyline.

Astrid Leong was married to a man (who I hate with a burning passion and wish he can die somewhere) named Michael Teo. They have a son named Cassian, and it seemed like a picture-perfect life. But it all came crashing down when Astrid realized that Michael has been seeing another woman behind her back (or so she thought), and cornered him about it, demanding him to tell her the truth (well, actually, she picked up his phone and saw the text message MISS U NSIDE ME, and thus, there was me screaming for her to go to Maury, or dig around and be a snoop) and it turns out, dammit, that Michael lied to her. He went to Hong Kong to see his sister and decided to fake everything so he and Astrid can get a divorce. That's why he made up everything for her to find. I hope to God in the next book that actually happens and Astrid can move on with Charlie Wu (the one I really want her to be with).

I also like the Nick/Colin Khoo storyline too, because the way they got away from Shanghai's answer to Spencer Pratt Benard Tai (with friends Mehmet, Alistair, and Lionel) was too funny and sneaky, and also I love their friendship. I was also glad that Colin and Araminta were worried for Rachel and actually treated her like family when she first came to Shanghai. Honestly, I love this friendship altogether.

The funniest one I liked has to be Oliver T'sien and Peik Lin. I LOVE them so much, especially Oliver's witty comments and I really, really love Peik Lin because she's a really good friend to Rachel.

What I didn't care about: the mom, Eleanor. I have this curse where if the fictional mother does something I don't like, I don't care about. I mean, she plotted to get rid of Rachel, even looking up to see who her birth father was. Then before Rachel went to see her father, Nick flew in her mother to explain everything to her and how she was another man's child and not the man who's in jail (thank god-and also the mom I liked in this book), thus stopping Eleanor to get rid of Rachel so she can set him up with someone else (ha ha).

So what's next? I don't know, but I gotta wait till I get my hands on China Rich Girlfriend (which is coming soon since I ordered it).

Book Review: Heir of Fire, a Throne of Glass novel by Sarah J. Maas

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3)Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book...this book, this book, this book. Holy moly. I thought this book was fantastic and amazing and I loved every bit of it. The ending shocked the living hell out of me, to the point that I didn't pick up anything else for a whole entire day (and mostly because it was Golden Girls day and I just sat and binged-watched the Golden Girls all day without getting on the computer). And part one, reading about Celeana's struggles and grappling with Nehemia's death and everything else she went through in the first two books was heartbreaking and I wanted to hug her...but first, can we just stop for a moment and talk about the new characters I've met while reading this book:

Rowan Whitethorn: First off, when I first met him, I was literally shouting, 'Go the other way, please! Don't come near me...no...NO....goddammit Sarah J. Maas *falls into his lap, drags him to the church, marries him and becomes the new Mrs. Rowan Whitethorn*' and then, you know, my lovely obsession with silver-haired men goes on. And learning about his past, when he was mated to another woman and comes back home and found out that she died was heartbreaking that I wanted to hug my husband so bad. But the one thing that irritated me a bit with him was when he kept telling Celeana/Aelin to shift (I wanted to smack him silly for saying it). But I love my Fae hawk-turning man so much (and sad that I have to wait till the next book to see him again...which I don't have right now). Oh and I almost forgot he has a tattoo...and it's sexy af.

Aedion Ashryver: I was a bit skeptical about him the moment he walked in, but then when I kept on reading, I started to like him. Mostly because he's secretly plotting against the king to put Aelin on her rightful throne, and pretending to do all those battles for the King. He even through the ring the King gave him away because he knew something was weird with it. And I felt a bit sorry for Chaol when Aedion had to beat him up once he found out that he was following him.

Manon Blackbeak: Oh hello there. How are you? Out of all the female characters that Sarah J. Maas has written, Manon has to be my favorite one in this book. She's vicious, beautiful, smart, cunning, and I love her SO DAMNED MUCH. She's Wing Leader (at the end of the book), she steals from the Spiders for their spider silk for her wyvern (YEP THAT'S RIGHT WYVERNS. THERE'S WYVERNS IN THIS BOOK HELL YES) and also she knows what she wants as well. She even took the weakest dragon, named him Abraxos, replaced his teeth and tail with iron, and he flew and won the War Games.

Queen Maeve: I HATE HER. Just like the King, I HATE HER WITH ALL MY HEART. CAN'T FUCKING STAND THIS BITCH. I DON'T KNOW WHY I CAN'T STAND THIS BITCH, AND I HOPE SHE DIES IN A FIREY PIT AND NEVER COME OUT EVER AGAIN. I JUST DO I DON'T KNOW WHY. I'M ALSO GLAD THAT ROWAN IS NO LONGER TIED TO YOUR DUMBASS.

Sorscha: This bean I loved her so much...till the end...when her head got cut off...WHAT THE FUCK... But she helped my son Dorian control his magic by researching everything, and also she fell in love with him, which sucked at the end. It did, seriously. I hated it when I read it. I hated it that it happened to her. She was honestly one of my other favorite characters.

And the memories of Aelin and how she survived was horrible, and it was spun by the King?? FUCK THE KING. FUCK HIM. Fuck him for what he did to Aelin, fuck him for everything. And what he did to Dorian?? Like why??? Why would you do that??? The ending sucks SO MUCH and I want to read the next book and the others because THE ENDING IS FUCKED UP SO MUCH.

Milk and Honey is the second poetry book I read this year, and I enjoyed it. I loved the poetry along with the drawings, and the words just...spoke to me. I wanted to weep, to cry, worry, be happy, wanting to hug the writer and wanted to cheer for them as they talked about what they went through. My favorite ones would have to be...

let us end
in it too

Book Review: Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J, Maas

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2)Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

HO-LY CRAP.

THIS BOOK RIGHT HERE.

I thought Throne of Glass was gonna be the death of me. But as soon as I opened up this book, I was wrong. I mean, I didn't know who thine hell is Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, and looked deranged while trying to figure it out, but when Chaol found out for me....HO-LY CRAP. I didn't know it was her. I swear to God, I didn't know.

But lemme talk about the one thing that killed me more than the Red Wedding: Nehemia's death. That broke the unholy hell out of me, and the last conversation Celeana had with her...the last one before she died...good lord, man. That sucked. And I'm glad Celeana got her revenge for her by killing Archer and delivering his head to the King (though I don't like the King. I truly don't. He can go fuck himself to the other side of the world. Just fuck right on off.) Then when Kaltain appeared again, I wanted to rage because I don't like her.

BUT DORIAN. Lemme talk about my precious boi, the Crown Prince. Because at first when he saw Chaol and Celeana together, he was like 'I'm going to forget her' and then after a meeting with his father BOOM magic powers appears and holy shit my son has magic, but he has to hide it from his father, but then when the carnival came and Baba Yellowlegs came in the picture, and had to ask questions about it, she scared him (I think she did) a bit and he ran off, but when Celeana came to see her...whooboy that fight though...

Holy crap the fight. I was worried for Celeana and thought that she was gonna die, but she killed the Ironteeth witch before she can tell him what Dorian told her.

Then the kidnapping of Chaol and the murder of all those people...hadn't seen that much rage in Celeana and it was fantastic. But the fight with the creature she summoned because she wanted to see Nehemia again...and Archer showing the eff up (that pissed me off) and Celeana tricking him to tell the truth before the ceature attacked...

And Celeana turned into a fae and used magic and killed the creature, that shocked me even more, and I'm glad it's dead, because if ANYTHING happened to Fleetfoot or my son, I was gonna kill someone...BADLY.

But the ending...when Chaol sent Celeana to Wendlyn to be safe, and when he found out about who she truly was...Aelin Ashryver Galathynius....holy crap.

I need to read the next book now.

Book Review: Devil's Daughter by Lisa Kleypas

Devil's Daughter (The Ravenels, #5)Devil's Daughter by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh lord, this book...this book make me have so many feels...I even cried at the end, that's how good it was. BUT once again, my husband and loml Sebastian was in it and thus, my feels were all over the place. But once again, before I go on about the love of my life and favorite heroes of all time, let's get through the book review first...

So Phoebe is the single mother of two boys after her husband died, and was promised marriage to a loser (to me he is) named Edward Larson, who's her late husband's cousin. But during Gabriel's and Phoebe's wedding, she runs into no other than West Ravenel, a man that has teased her husband when they were in boarding school. At first, she hated him because of what he did to Henry, but then she forgave him, and was actually shocked that her children liked being around him.

But that dinner scene between them was so cute and I loved it so much (including the recipe at the end of the book). Also, there was a scene where West saved Justin from the bull that nearly hurt him. I honestly gasped when it happened, because I started to worry about him, but was glad that he got better. Then came him coming to the house to help her and hot damn, that's when they're romance blossomed (actually, it blossomed when they kissed).

When West came to the house to help her with the ledgers, that's when it got really romantic. West was staying at the small cottage back in the house I believe, and holy moly the secret meetings at night (and they were passionate good lord) but my favorite scene was when she shaved his beard, thus giving me a kink I didn't even know I liked-I like it when men get shaved. I don't know why, but it was sexy as hell...

ANYWHOO...

West then had to leave for the both of them because of stupid ol' Edward coming back and also because he had a mistress behind Phoebe's back, and also he was taking money from Justin's inheritance to buy a house and all the luxurious things he needed for his mistress and his son. He even had the gall to ask Phoebe to marry him when she didn't feel not one damned thing for him anymore, and she said that she was going to remove him as trustee and put her father as the main trustee now.

Then West went back to drinking for a couple of days because he couldn't get Phoebe out of his head, and his friend Tom Severin took him to Jenner's, where he was nearly killed by Edward because he thought he could just try and convince my husband that he was the right one for Phoebe, and also because he thought he filled her mind with so many things about him, but Sebastian stopped him. Then the ending when Phoebe asks him to marry him and he said yes was just perfect.

BUT HOLD ON, WAIT A MINUTE, LET'S TALK ABOUT MY HUSBAND IN A COUPLE CHAPTERS, SHALL WE?

That one chapter with him in the tub when Evie went to go find him to talk to him was soo good. Even when he was counting down for her to take off her dress, only for her to be like, "go ahead"...and then the conversation they had afterward I CAN'T...I just CAN'T....and the train scene OMGGG was so cute...even when Evie played Patti-Cake with Stephen....

I loved this book so much and now I want to read more of her books.

Book Review:Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas

Devil in Spring (The Ravenels, #3)Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil in Spring...holy crap this book though...I had feels throughout this whole entire book and I loved every single minute of it. I loved how Pandora and Gabriel fell in love, and how Gabriel was very protective over Pandora because she was sheltered all her life, and also she's deaf in one ear. She wants to become a businesswoman and make her own games, and doesn't even want to marry.

BUT.

CAN. WE. TALK. ABOUT. THE. PROLOGUE. Y'ALL.

*pulls out a list of one thousand six hundred things I love about my husband Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent*

My favorite hero and loml (right next to Dante, of course) Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent and Evie appears in it and I CAN'T with it. I just can't with it. It was so cute and adorable and it makes me want to read the book over again because it was SO GOOD.

I'm going to debauch you for the ten thousandth time, Evie-and for once, I want you to pay attention."

Me: Hi yes, hello husband how are you OH PLEASE DEBAUCH ME ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT I DON'T CARE I LOVE YOU.

Buttt back to the book review and enough about my love for Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent-who's now a duke, y'all. HE'S A DUKE...

Now his son has the title of St. Vincent and at first, Pandora doesn't want to marry him. But in the week at Heron Point, they fell in love and got married, and it was really cute how when they went on their honeymoon and since she never went to a hotel she wanted to take a tour, but when Gabriel ended it and took her to their suite, they made love for the first time, and afterward Pandora told him that "Your lovemaking is a gift."

BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS JEALOUS MISTRESS THOUGH? Like she wanted to make Pandora cry at the show, but Pandora stood her ground..before she got stabbed by the warehouse owner I believe and had to be taken to a hospital, where she was taken care of by Dr. Griffth. Gabriel didn't want her to operate on her, but then relented and let her do it.

Close to the ending of the book made me cry because I got worried for Pandora for a moment, then I learned (before Pandora got hurt) that terr ah GABRIEL'S A FREAK IN THE BED. Like he tied her up and they made love and my mouth dropped and I couldn't even.

Then the doctor's note for the both of them was funny and it made me laugh, and the threat that Pandora would got up and down the stairs and sing a children's song if he didn't make love to her. And the bombs that was planted in the hall when the Prince of Wales came through...that part made me cry the most, but I'm glad that they survived, and also the ending, when she came into Winterborne's and saw that her game was sold out. And the kiss at the end OMG I couldn't.

I would give this book ten out of ten stars if I could because it was SO GOOD.

Book Review: The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas

The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass, #0.1-#0.5)The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So...stupid me forgot that I didn't do a book review for this book. So I guess after reading this the second time, I decided to *finally* do a book review of The Assassin's Blade, a Throne of Glass novellas by Miss Sarah J. Maas...aka Yet Another Book That Wrecked Me At The End.

Shall we begin?

Like most books like this, I'll break this up by the short stories:

1.) The Assassin and the Pirate Lord-The first time I read this, I hated the pirate lord. I wanted to kill him for so many things. But to find out the Aborynn sent Sam and Celaena to get slaves from him, I was both shocked and appalled that he did that. I'm glad that Celaena came up with a plan to stop him from doing that because I couldn't believe that the King of Assassins would do that. But he did, but his plan was foiled, even though Sam didn't want to do it in the first place, calling it foolish. But he helped, and now all the slaves she saved were free and will never be slaves ever.

2.) The Assassin and the Healer-This is after when Aborynn beat Celaena and told her to go to the Red Desert. This was a really cute story about how she met this girl who worked at this tavern and saved her from drunks. She even taught her how to defend herself, then gave her some money and her brooch so she could leave that horrible place and go to be a Healer.

3.) The Assassin and the Desert-I *almost* shipped Celaena and Illas so hard, but Ansel was such a bitch for doing what she did. All because of something that happened to her a long time ago. And she and Celaena were such good friends, stealing Asterion horses and helping stop a local lord. But NOOOOO, Ansel made a damned deal with the lord and Celaena nearly killed her, but told her to get out and ride before she shot her arrow at her. That good she waited another minute before she shot her arrow. And I'm also glad that she learned some things from the Mute Master.

4.) The Assassin and the Underworld-This is the least one I liked from this group of stories, mostly because Aborynn screwed her over, but he showered her with gifts though. And Lysandra...hate her so much. I hope to god that she doesn't show up in the other books, because I want Celaena to mess her face right on up. And I felt sorry for Sam for even dealing with poor Lysandra during and after her Bidding, but glad that Celaena paid off his and her debts before moving out and leaving Abroynn for good.

5.)The Assassin and the Empire-THIS STORY BROKE THE HELL OUT OF ME. The way Sam died, and how Celaena had to go to the Salt Mines of Endovier. She was fucking set up by Aborynn-for what I don't know, but fucking hell, man. I hated Aborynn throughout the whole entire book, and to fucking set her up the way he did...I wished for the love god that he would die for what he did. That pissed me off to the HIGHEST pissofity. Also I hate the King of Ardarlan. So damned much.

Book Review: The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air #1)The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hello there, and welcome to my TED talk about how much this book completely broke me. *screams about this book for 12 hours straight*

Holy crap, I'm ready for book two.

So this book is about Jude Duarte who was kidnapped by a faerie named Madoc when she was seven years old, after he killed her parents. She lived in Elfhame since then, and she had to deal with the curelness of the Faerie and including Prince Cardan, and...homegirl is a badass. She's good with the knife and sword, and she became my favorite character.

BUT PRINCE CARDAN.

*takes inhaling breath* BOIIIIII.

At first, I hated Cardan-in fact, I wanted to hang him upside down and leave him there. But then as I got to know him more and more...I started to like him. I started to like him so much that I honestly wanted to hug him for what his brother Balekin did to half of the family...and then when Jude and Cardan kissed, I was like, 'that's my ship'

Now I'm ready for book two and the third book, which I don't have but it's on my TBR and I just want more of these characters, dammit it-I NEED MORE OF THEM.

But back to the book review, in which I am all over the place with this...

Jude became a spy for Prince Dain's court, and she was a terrible spy, but it did hurt to read that she got stabbed in the hand really hard because Prince Dain told her too. Then the short romance between Locke and Jude (which I shipped for a little bit) before Balekin killed everyone, thus making everything go to hell before Jude came up with a plan...which was to put her young brother Oak on the throne. But Oak was too young, so Madoc would do it. Butttt then at the end, Cardan got the crown so he could rule, and honestly it looks good on him, really, it does.

And now I'm ready for Wicked King and the last book so I can die of happiness.

Book Review: Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson

Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible ThingsFuriously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I brought this book at my school's bookstore because it was interesting, and also the furiously happy raccoon on the cover. I didn't read this book for a semester until now, and I'm glad that I read this funny book. I laughed at a lot of parts of the book, even started my own little pen pal notes that my mind goes through because I found that part very funny. For example:

"Matthew Mercer is a huge teddy bear that I would like to hug one day."

"Every time I see a crepe, I think of Malec."

“Why am I imaging Vergil holding a baby, but not in a good way?”

There were some parts of the book that I connected with-like how her husband would sit up at night, saying that the cat don’t own pants and that the nurse had the wrong house, or the cutest arguments ever that made me laugh so much. At the end of the book I felt happy and glad that I read this book. I mean, it pulled me in with a raccoon on the cover, and I’m glad that there’s someone out there in the world that gets me. Like, truly gets me.

When I grow up, I want to be just like Jenny Lawson.

Book Review: The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson

The Bane ChroniclesThe Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Magnus Bane...the High Warlock of Brooklyn, three hundred years ago, and have quite some tales to be told. From Peru (I'm still trying to figure out what really happened in Peru), to the rise and fall of the Hotel Dumort, to first dates with a Shadowhunter (Alec Lightwood needs to be protected at all cost) but these eleven stories about Magnus made me love and stan him even more. I mean, he had adventures with his friends Ragnor Fell and Catarina Loss, he watched Raphael Santiago (in which he wanted to have a drink, stat), fought in the Last Stand of the New York Insitute, and also met two Herondales. Magnus also had a relationship with Camille Belcourt, though I honestly didn't care one bit about her...

And he also smuggled Marie Antoinette out of Paris, though the way I saw it, he yeeted Marie Antionette out of Versailles in a hot-air balloon.

I read when he didn't know what to get his boyfriend Alec for his birthday and I found it really adorable because I would be freaking out too if I didn't know what to get my shadowhunter boyfriend on his birthday. But the first date story made me awe and want to protect my son Alec because he was so nervous and actually helped Magnus deal with a werewolf-and I honestly teared up at some parts.

But the voice mails...yes it did spoil a couple of things for me, but I got curious and worried that something happened to my Malec ship and I don't want anything to happen to my Malec ship-just thinking about it makes me worry about it even more. But I just need to read the last four books in the Mortal Instruments series so I can understand what happened to them and pray to god that they can get back together.

I loved this book so much and I'm glad that I read all of them and want to finish up the Shadowhunter novels because I love this world so much.

Book Review: Storm Front, a Harry Dresden files novel by Jim Butcher

Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1)Storm Front by Jim Butcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My second Harry Dresden novel, which turned out to be the first book in the series...and all I have to say is wow...holy moly.

So this book introduced Harry Dresden as a Wizard, who got hired to work on a case with Karrin Murphy about a murder, along with a woman named Monica Sells who needed help with her husband. But who would've thought that these two cases were connected to each other? Especially when the White Council is also after Harry and wanted to catch him in the act when they thought he cast the spell to kill those folks. But Harry didn't, even though he was tired to the bone. He figured out who was casting the spell and wanted to stop him.

Shockingly enough, it was Monica Sells's husband, Victor, who was using a drug called ThreeEye, using...erm, how can I say this...sexual energy to fuel his and call up a storm to kill these people, and even tried to do it to Harry. But Harry turned it around, even though it caused him to lie to Karrin and nearly got arrested, get blamed for something he really didn't do this time, and narrowly escaped death by a scorpion attack.

All in all, a normal day for Mr. Dresden, huh?

Oh and also he got beaten up by the mob too, thinking that it was Johnny Marcone, but it wasn't. Also, they way he summoned Took was pretty damned neat (though I don't recommend doing that to the poor fairy) and also Bob was funny with his love potions and stuff.

Book Review: Blood Rites, a Harry Dresden novel by Jim Butcher

Blood Rites (The Dresden Files, #6)Blood Rites by Jim Butcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The building was on fire, and it wasn't my fault.

The first line of my first Harry Dresden novel sucked me in and it took me a while to read this book, but I enjoyed it. I've never read a Harry Dresden novel ever, not once, not even when a friend of mine recommended me the book series years ago. And it took me till now to read it and I'm glad that I did. And honestly, I loved hanging out with Harry, Murphy, Thomas...

But before I get ahead of myself, lemme start this book review...

Harry was hired by Arturo Genosa to go undercover to figure out who's been killing off females on his movie after Thomas went to him and asked him to help. So Harry went to the site, only to find out that the entropy curse is going after women that the producer hired for the movie. He tries to stop it, only to get hurt and is taken to Thomas's home. There, he finds out a couple of things-one, that he and Thomas are brothers-half-brothers, to be exact. Two, freakin' Marva and her Black Court vamps are out to get him, and three...three is that Thomas's father, Lord Raith, is a horrible person. He tried to get his youngest daughter, Inari, to sleep and kill Harry, to have her first feeding, but her lips started to burn.

It turns out that if the White Court Vampires kisses someone that's in love, their lips would burn. So while dealing with the entropy curse, he also had to deal with Marva and her Black Court vampires, hiring Kincaid to help him do it. They went to the poor side of Chigaco and fought her Renfields, only for Harry to nearly burning his hand off, which sucked.

He learned about his teacher's past with his mother and the White Court, and the only thing Harry wanted to do was kill Lord Raith for what he did to her, which was sickening, by the way, using the curse to kill her. Even though Ebenezer told him that he couldn't do it, darn it, Harry tried, with the help of Murphy again. He also found out that Lord Raith kidnapped Thomas and wanted to use him for the curse...

And oh boy, did he use them...

To bring back the thing Harry destroyed a long time ago.

He Who Walks Behind.

And I have to say, THAT THING IS SCARY AFFFF MAN.

I actually enjoyed this book so much that I actually checked out another Harry Dresden novel (after I get done reading another book, actually) but all in all, I loved it and I would honestly read this whole entire book series.

Book Review: Forsaken by Kelley Armstrong

ForsakenForsaken by Kelley Armstrong
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book...this book, this book, this book...holy moly....

This book made me shake, nearly have a panic attack, and also made me worry about both Elena and Clay and their kids...

And no, no, no this book didn't make me have ideas of writing my own werewolf AU (it totally did).

But anyway...

Elena is all the way up in England, at a Alpha meeting and she hates the Alpha of the UK pack and wants to go home to her kids and husband on their family trip. She does, but not before her daughter walks out of the house and gets lost. Worried, she starts looking for her, only to catch the scent of another werewolf that should've been in Belguim, Malcolm Danvers, but it totally wasn't him as she finally found her daughter, scared, shaking and alone, but this time she saw the muscles moving and started having fears of her daughter changing into a werewolf.

So the Danvers family moved to a hotel and that's when everything came ahead. Turns out the UK pack wanted to show that Elena was a weak, hysterical mother (and they didn't), and both Kate and Logan successfully Changed into werewolves (that part makes me cringe when Kate changed) and also they didn't want to give Malcolm a chance, but they're thinking about it. And it was nice to see Hope and Karl again (sans her pregnancy from Otherworld Secrets).

Book Review: Otherworld Secrets by Kelley Armsrong

Otherworld Secrets (Otherworld Stories, #4)Otherworld Secrets by Kelley Armstrong
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I haven't read an anthology in so long that when I picked this book up I actually had a good time reading it. So I'm going to break this anthology up by the stories so I can fully review this book.

1) Life After Theft (Hope x Karl) – This one I read through quickly. Someone set up Karl, a werewolf and a thief, about stealing something when he wanted to retire and work part time for his children. So he and his wife investigates who set him up while also stealing a very priceless grimiore. I loved this one and their kid as well.

2) Forbidden (Elena x Clay) – Morgan Walsh comes from Alaska to see if he wants to join The Pack, but then is accused of killing someone. Elena and Clay comes down from Stonehaven to investigate and to clear Morgan's name. Honestly I loved this one as well, mostly because of Elena and Clay from Bitten.

3) Angelic (Eve x Kristoff) – Have no memory of what happened in this one. It was alright to me, nothing to run home to tell mama about.

4) Zen and the Art of Vampirism (Zoe) – Basically Zoe just scared off some potential new vamps in town.

5) The Ungrateful Dead (Jamie) – A dead guy wanted Jamie to investigate his and his cousin's murder, turns out the guys were zombies and she and Savannah gives them to someone named Molly.

6) Counterfeit Magic (Paige x Lucas) – Underground fight club for supernatural but one of the brothers is getting blackmailed. A demon tricks Paige to make her think that Lucas is cheating on her, but it turns out it was someone that was part of the Cabal that wants to take Lucas's place, but that didn't work at all.

So all in all, this is a really good anthology but some I just didn't care to remember, which is a shame really.

Up from the Grave, A Night Huntress Novel by Jeaniene Frost

Up from the Grave (Night Huntress, #7)Up from the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy crap this book...things happened in this book that makes me go wow each time...even though it was terrible that the ass that did what he did died, the ending was kinda sweet and adorable and I loved it.

Everything was hunky-dory in Cat and Bones land. It was cooler than the other side of the pillow. But sadly, everything changed that when her uncle Don tried to talk to Cat about Madigan, but he would't reveal the secret. So they went to visit Tyler the Medium again to contact Don and get him to spill his secret on Madigan. Don didn't talk, so they decided to go to New Orleans to visit the voodoo queen herself, Marie Laveau. Marie summoned Don and held him down with the Remmants, and finally Don told him what Madigan was planning to do: create a perfect weapon-of vampire and ghoul, just like Cat. That's why he wanted Cat so much-to possibly force her to breed a child that was just like her or use her blood. So she came up with a plan to stop Madigan for even doing that, along with saving her

But..but it didn't mention the fact that BONES FAKED HIS DEATH LIKE A MOFO and then Cat getting caught and being brought in like a test subject, but it did. It hurt so much to read what they did to her, but I’m glad that she escaped with Tate and Juan and Cooper...but also with Madigan (which I hated most of all) but at least he turned into a stupid-ass ghoul and didn’t remember much, just bits and pieces of his small life before he killed himself...

But the kicker was when they found out that Cat-and Tate-had a daughter. A DAUGHTER, mind you, named Katie. And Katie dosen’t know how to communicate properly, and also they found the backer. And the backer for this sick and twisted experiment was a demon named Trove, who wanted to ignite the war between vampires and ghouls, starting with the death of Katie.

That wasn’t about to happen, so Cat, Bones, and Trove got into a fight, and Bones drank some of Trove’s blood, which got him high as a kite and Cat killed him with the demon bone knife. Then they excuted (by they I mean the Leauge Guardians, Mencheres, Marie and a couple others) killed Katie, but instead they killed Denise. I thought that we’ll never see Denise again before she came back to life.

So in the end, Cat, Bones, and Katie left the states and that was the end of the book...which killed me because now I’m goin’ “what am I gonna read now?” (even though when you read this, I’m already reading something else).

One Grave at a Time: A Night Huntress novel by Jeaniene Frost

One Grave at a Time (Night Huntress, #6)One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book almost broke me...almost broke me. But it also excited me, because it's about a very old ghost who wrote the Malleus Maleficarium (not the title of a Supernatural episode) a long time ago, and Cat and her husband, Bones, have to stop a ghost before it can do harm to any other woman when Halloween, or Samhain, comes around.

Cat and Bones also have to deal with Madigan, a man with so many secrets that even Cat's dead uncle Don couldn't get close to him. And each time they tried to get close to Heinrich Kramer, he always disappears. He also went after three women-Francine, Sarah, and Lisa-though it turned out the Sarah worked for Kramer and tried to kill Helsing, but that didn't work at all once they found out that Kramer was after Cat now.

They tried to trap him twice, but Madigan interrupted once and they got him again with tasers the second time so now Kramer is bye bye and everything is good...for now.

It was good to meet Spade, Diana and Ian, though I found Ian funny and a bit of a prick and I'm glad I met them and I love Cat and Bones together they are so good together.

Tokyo Ghoul, Vol. 2 by Sui Ishida

Tokyo Ghoul, Vol. 2 (Tokyo Ghoul, #2)Tokyo Ghoul, Vol. 2 by Sui Ishida
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ken Kaneki was once a human college student until he went on his date with Riza, a ghoul. Now that he's a hybrid-part human, part ghoul, and is working at Anteiku now, and learning how to be a ghoul that's living in Tokyo by friendly ghouls. He's scared of Touka (get to that later), got his cool mask by Uta (which freaks him out) and is learning how to eat dead people and not humans.

But the one storyline that freaked me out and nearly made me cry was the mother/daughter one, and how the mother died. It was brutal, honestly, and I was close to crying. But it was cute that Kaneki taught the daughter how to read and new words that she wrote down.

Since my brain is about to go poop, this was a really good book and I wanna read more of the series before I read Tokyo Ghoul: re.

Book Review: Murder on the Orient Express: A Hercule Poirot Mystery by Agatha Christie

Murder on the Orient Express (Hercule Poirot, #10)Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Imagine yourself getting on a train, a beautiful train by the way, and while you're on your way to wherever you're going, a murder happens. Now the thing is: you don't know who did it. Who was the one who killed this man who was involved in a murder case a long time ago? Why was he stabbed 12 times?

That is was Hercule Poirot was faced with when M. Rachett (first of all, can we talk about the name? Rachett...like it was funny to me because it sounded like rachet) is found dead in his compartment, and was stabbed 12 times. Each passenger-The Wagon Lit Conductor, Secretary, Valet, American Lady, Swedish Lady, Russian Princess, Count and Countess Andrenyi, Colonel Arbuthnot, Mr. Hardman, the Italian, Miss Debenham, and the German Lady's Maid.

Of course, the Wagon Lit Conductor, Secretary and the Valet was off the suspect list. Mr. Hardman was off it too-he was part of a Private Investigation group. So that left the American and Swedish Ladies, the Russian Princess, Count and Countess Andrenyi, Colonel Arbuthnot, the Italian, Miss Debenham, and the German Lady's Maid...

Which one of them did it?

Well this is the part that shook me: ALL OF THEM DID IT.

It was planned out and I was honestly pointing fingers at the Russian Princess, thinking she was the one who did it, then Miss Debenham which I thought was a total liar all together, but when Poirot came up with that whole conclusion that everyone did it, I was shooketh-TOTALLY SHOOKETH. But I loved this book and all the twist and turns and my wild theories...I love them.

Book Review: The Darkest Torment (Lords of the Underworld) by Gena Showalter

The Darkest Torment (Lords of the Underworld, #12)The Darkest Torment by Gena Showalter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Y'all...this book right here...

THIS BOOK GOT ME THIRSTY AF.

A book never had gotten me thirsty-never. As I sit here and think about it, nearly all the books I've read either made me want to rage or get me excited, but never, not in a million years, have a book made me thirsty until now. It's a modern day beauty and the beast, but with hellhounds, Hades being a total dick and love-sans the dancing part that I was looking for, and throw in the asshole half-immortal husband and you got yourself a book.

So this book is about Baden (who is NOT Jamie Fraser. Sadly. He dosen't talk in that sexy accent...dammit) BUT anywho Baden has the demon of Destruction inside him, along with the bands around his arms that forces him to do everything Hades does, earning him the title "Hades Bitch" (in which I don't like because he's not a bitch). First thing Hades tasks him with-get his coin. So he flashes to a church, where a wedding was taken place between Katarina Joelle and an asshole that I will not name (okay, it's Alekander...dammit).

A huge fight ensuses, and Baden demands that Alekander gives him the coin. Aleksander's stupid-ass said no, so Baden decided to take Katarina as his bride. Soon the two fall in love, and honestly it's so cute that she was secretly training him like one of her dogs and saying that she failed before she took her dogs-

SPEAKING OF DOGS...

Katarina adopted two dogs named Biscuit and Gravy-THAT ARE HELLHOUNDS MIND YOU, and now I want some hellhounds...*Waluigi's Wah insert here*-and they bit her, and she is now part of the Hellhound pack and also calls Baden and Distruction Baduction (which is a cute name).

BUT BY GOLLY THE SEX SCENES IN THIS BOOK. Normally I don't read books for the steamy sex scenes-sure I get a party in my pants but then it fades. THIS BOOK'S SCENES THOUGH...OH SWEET MERCIFUL BABY JESUS I CAN'T. The thirst I can't even....

But in the end, they live happily ever after..while another girl marries a goat and Cameo starts looking for Lazarus. Okay then...

Book Review: Dark Blood, A Carpathian Novel by Christine Feehan

Dark Blood (Dark, #23)Dark Blood by Christine Feehan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So...book three of THIS BOOK BROKE ME AS WELL...

This was a really good book-it honestly surprised me, mostly because of the spells they used (I got jealous because I can't write spells as well as Christine can) and how Zev had Branislava choose to be with him, and had a fear of caging her if they mated (which they did). That was honestly the thing that made me give this book more stars.

The banter between him, Dimitri, and Fen was funny, including their lifemates were pretty funny. But when you add demons and hellhounds...well, now you got me intrigued. *Insert Jason Momoa chair gif here* But the thing that broke me was Branislava and Tatijana's horrible past, locked up as dragons behind ice and saw everything their father and his twins brothers done and knew every spell they did and I almost cried and felt sorry for them because they saw every horrible thing their father had ever done, and then I got proud when Branka got stronger each time she unraveled his dark magic, his shadow, before he actually did anything bad.

And the scene that made me cry was the couples dancing in the forest clearing..THAT BROKE ME (the final fight broke me too). I mean, the couples and the children, they were so cute dancing around, that small moment before all hell broke loose (and I mean, all hell broke loose).

But the ending, when those three High Mages summoned Hemming, Zev's grandfather...OW MY HEART. That hurt so much. And he was wrapped in silver chains? Owwwie ow ow ow. And he didn't have long, so Branka took off the chains and he talked till he died...but ow that hurt so much. I think now when senior characters die, it makes me think of my grandmother that passed away. I mean, she's been gone for a couple year now, but it still hurts though...

Other than that, I loved it and the feels and PEOPLE BREAKING ME but I'm okay now..till the next book that may or may not break me.

Book Review: City of Glass, a Shadowhunter Novel by Cassandra Clare

City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3)City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ah yes, book three of the Mortal Instruments.......

THIS BOOK BROKE ME AS WELL.

Like it shouldn't, but the more I read this book, THIS BOOK BROKE ME AND MY SON JACE. Why don't we name this book How Many Rages Can Brittany and Jace Go Through Before They Are Officially Broken?. Because I raged so much at this book, and it broke me to the core-I was SHOOKETH. SHOOKETH I TELL YA, SHOOKETH TO THE CORES. It didn't do well for my rage because I kept raging each time something bad happens. Like for example, Valentine's stupid-ass kept an angel in the Wayland manor, and it showed both Clary and Jace what happened while he was chained up and used by Valentine for his damned experiments, then Simon being locked up by the Gard when the new Inquisitor, Inquisitor Aldertree, not believing him when he explained how he was turned into a vampire (turned into a rat thanks to one of the drinks at Magnus's party), then on the boat drank Jace's blood to be a Daywalker.

But while he was in prison, Raphael visited him in prison using a projection to talk to him, and then the thing that broke me number one: SIMON WAS TALKING TO HODGE, WHO WAS IN THE NEXT CELL OMG. Then when he escaped he was killed by Sebastian Verlac, who I was going to adopt, but I changed my mind when me and Jace found out that his name was truly Jonathan Morgenstern-aka Sebastian Morgenstern. So Jace isn't truly a Morgenstern or a half-demon, he's just Jace Wayland (which silently killed him, by the way)

And the announcement Clary made in front of the Clave about what Valentine was planning and showed them the rune was brave-and also JOCELYN WOKE UP AWWEEE YISS.

Also, MY SHIP KISSED.

THAT'S RIGHT. MALEC KISSED IN FRONT OF EVERYONE AND I CLAPPED BECAUSE DAMMIT, MAGNUS AND ALEC DESERVES EVERYTHING FOR THEM.

But the battle was honestly stupid, because one, the demons was just following Valentine's orders, and secondly the *iconic* move that Isabelle did when she cut off Sebastian's hand off-SO ICONIC. I felt sorry for Clary when her own father kidnapped her and put a slient rune on her and some magical chains that kept her there as she watched him summon the angel Raziel and watch him kill him, then wished for Jace to come back after she learned that she and Jace are not brother and sister.

And the story Jocelyn told Clary about her relationship with Valentine, what happened to her and Sebastian/Jonathan and then Jace's real family...like ow. Seriously. just ow.

And then the ending with Jace's letter. I sobbed. Because he wrote to her, saying that he's going after Sebastian, and wanted to tell her that he loved her before he did.

And also, before I forget, R.I.P. Max Lightwood. Fuck you, Sebastian Morgenstern.

Book Review: City of Ashes, A Shadowhunters Novel by Cassandra Clare

Oh gosh hi guys! I haven't been on here for a while-school (or college) had taken up my life last year since I started, and I couldn't get a time to sit down and write out a full-fledged book review till now...in the three weeks that we've been in 2019...but since I'm done with two books of the Mortal Instruments, City of Ashes.

City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2)City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book two of the Mortal Instruments...what can I say about it? All except THIS BOOK BROKE ME. Most books don't break me often, but after re-reading City of Bones and moving on to this book, it broke the hell out of me. For one, I'm glad that Jocelyn's out of Valentine's grasp and into a hospital, but still under a sleeping spell, Clary and Jace are brother and sister, but they don't love each other that way (which, to me, was disgusting as hell when they found out that they were siblings. Like you don't kiss your siblings like that) and then Simon...my sweet baby boy...he's slowly turning into vampire, and he and Clary are dating, but like an idiot (I'm sorry to all the Clary fans) she keeps going to Jace.

Also, the Inquisitor was scary as hell when the second Mortal Instruments were stolen-by Valentine himself, who went to the Silent City to get it, even visiting Jace when he was thrown in there. That scene made me think that he wanted to tell him something (and I think he did, I don't remember) and then Clary, Alec and Isabelle came to the Silent City when they got a warning signal to go check it out, and all of the Silent Brothers were dead, and Jace was still in his cell, telling them what happened.

Clary had a bright idea and took her stele and created a new rune that came from her mind, wanting to free Jace. And it did, burning the metal down so he could get out. But once they went outside, the Inquisitor and Maryse, the Lightwoods' mother, was there, and they took Jace away, I think they ignored Clary, and the Inquisitor put Jace in another box, thinking that she could trade him for the Mortal Instruments...

But can we take a little break and talk about Maia Roberts? I already love her already, even though her stupid-ass boyfriend turned her into a werewolf. She has the scars on her neck and she was a good friend to Simon, even though he turned into a vampire and wanted to kill him at first. But then when the both of them got captured by Valentine and the fear demon, that hurt me so damn much-mostly because I was worried about them and hoped that they could get saved.

Then Valentine killed my son..and I wanted to rage SO BAD at him. Like why must you kill Simon though? He's a innocent boy-vampire-and you just killed him. But thank god that in the end, Clary blew up the ship, Simon drank Jace's blood and started walking in the sun now, and also my ship, Malec, had their date.

Oh and also Magnus had to watch Jace for a while. It was hilarious. Makes me want to stay over Magnus's place to read and party. I stan a Magnus Bane, okay??
