Book Review: Burned, a House of Night Novel by P.C. and Kristin Cast

Burned (House of Night, #7)Burned by P.C. Cast
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Zoey's soul has shattered as soon as she saw Kalona kill her human consort, Heath Luck...in which I gasped and called him a jerk-off for doin' that, but as I digress, her soul has shattered and she's wondering around with Heath, who's trying to get her soul back. In the real world, tho...Neferet, being the TOTAL bitch from hell, tells Kalona to go to the Otherworld to make sure Zoey don't come back. (shall I laugh from this? Shall I? Yes, yes I shall).

So the rest of the gang that are there in Italy-Aphrodite, Darius, Stark, Shaunee, Erin, Jack and Damien, are trying to find a way to get Stark to the Otherworld to bring Zoey back-and the only way how is for Stark to die. So they go to this place where this totally awesome warrior queen and her Guardian told him that they can help him get to the Otherworld to bring Zoey back-and stop Kalona from carrying out Neferet's evil plan. (Once again, shall I laugh at this?) Even though Stark had to fight himself first to get through and find Zoey, it was worth it, even though the painful part of it was that he had to tell Heath to let go of Zoey.

In Tulsa, though...Stevie Rae, the current Red High Priestess, found Rephaim and saved him. Like..saved him, saved him. She kept him underground for a while, thinkin' that he'll be safe, but NOPE THAT DIDN'T WORK, NOW DID IT?! Reason why is because of the rouge red fledglings wanted to kill Stevie Rae, but somehow Rephaim saved her, making her break her Imprint with Aphrodite and imprinted with him. Then she hid him in an old house that was filled with spirits, and she herself summoned the wrong bull (gee, thanks Aphrodite for not tellin' her which bull was Darkness and which bull was Light) and Rephaim saved her from that by giving himself up for her, which I thought was really sweet. Then...then the thing happened with Dallas/Stevie Rae/Rephaim where Dallas went through the change and almost attacked the Raven Mocker. But thank god he didn't (though I would really wanna see that fight...)

So back in the Otherworld, once Stark told Heath to let go of Zoey and to move on, Kalona appeared and the two of them started to fight and Zoey finally put the pieces of her soul back, and she told Kalona to pay up. Kalona said no I won't do it, then Nyx appeared and forced him to do it, bringing Stark back to life. Then Stark fed from Zoey, and her tattoos and her elements came back to her, healing Stark and then they came back to the real world.

Honestly? This is an amazing book with a bunch of twists and turns and I really do recommend this a lot.

Book Hypothesis: Burned, a House of Night Novel by P.C. and Kristin Cast

Hello y'all!

I know I haven't posted anything up lately because I've been worried about school and stuff, and Christmas is coming up and that I'm done with Tempted (the novel before this one), I decided to do two posts in one-so let's get started with this book hypothesis of Burned!

So at the end of Tempted ***sounds like Sheldon Cooper: "PLEASE! SPOLIER ALERT!"**** Zoey's soul has shattered. Like....it broke into TINY TINY PEICES when someone that I can't name died...thanks to a CERTAIN FALLEN ANGEL. So what do I think will happen in Burned?

Well...

  1. Zoey won't die.
  2. Stevie Rae finds some way to get to her friend.
  3. Aphrodite and Darius are still going strong
  4. NEFERET DIES A PAINFUL DEATH

Book Review: Tempted, a House of Night Novel by P.C. and Kristin Cast

Tempted (House of Night, #6)Tempted by P.C. Cast
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OH. MY. GAWD.

THIS BOOK. I CAN'T.

From the banishment of Kalona and Neferet (I really, REALLY hate her), to Darius and Aphrodite sharing a beautiful moment (my OTP for life), and Zoey and the gang going to Venice to talk to the Vampyre High Council, then when Heath died (R.I.P. Heath....BECAUSE RIGHT NOW I CAN'T WITH WHAT KALONA DID!!) it was just a whirlwind of action.

I was skeptical of Rephaim and kept wondering why Stevie Rae kept him alive, but then when he saved her from almost getting burned, thanks to those rouge red fledglings....I hope as I keep reading that he turns out to be on the good side, and not look for his STUPID DADDY.

But I loved this book all the way up to the end and I can't wait to read more!!!!

Book Review: Knight Awakened by Coreene Callahan

Knight Awakened (Circle of Seven, #1)Knight Awakened by Coreene Callahan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was amazing. It took me to places I didn't even know exist, and I ship Xavian and Afina A LOT. So what happens in the book is that Vladimir needed Afina because he wants to be ruler of Translyvania...really, bro? Really? So he sent Xavian to get her and the child Sabine...but Xavian didn't mean to fall in love with her, take Afina's virginity, save her from slavers, try to protect her from dragons (which I got happy about...I mean DRAGONS people!!), oh and the original idea for Afina was to make her his healer at Drachaven, but then he fell in love and now she's the Lady of Drachaven.

Afina also met her brother Henrik, whom she thought he was dead, but he wasn't :) Also I loved the magic in this story and I really wanna read more from this book series now. I really do recommend this book because it's awesome and amazing and I did end up crying at some parts of the novel.

Book Hypothesis: The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan

For today's book hypothesis, I thought I tackle this great fantasy by the late Robert Jordan called The Great Hunt.

Now for my history on the books: I go the book Winter's Heart when I was in middle school and it took me a YEAR to finish. I've always been insterested in this book series, but I couldn't find the time to read them. Now that I'm older and have more time to read, I picked up The Great Hunt because I wanted to start the book series right instead of picking bits and pieces of the series before not knowing how Rand al'Thor became the Dragon Reborn, or how Moiraine and Rand got together, OR how he defeated the Dark One.

Now from the cover of the novel, it looks like they're looking for a horn...with a weird looking dude who has weird ears...but other than that it looks like an awesome book (and I forgot what chapter I'm on) and when I get done I'm DEFINITELY reviewing this.

Book Review: Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty by Jody Gehrman

Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty (Triple Shot Bettys, #1)Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty by Jody Gehrman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's supposed to be the best summer ever in Geena's book, but sadly it wasn't because....

1. Hero, Geena's cousin, and Amber, Geena's friend and co-worker of the Triple Shot Betty, weren't getting along UNTIL Hero met Claudio, Amber and Hero are buddies, and Amber and Hero was in a horrible deal that lowered their reputation until all three of them got back on the dude and all three are now BFFS.

2. She's supposed to hate Ben but after her friends tricked her into liking him, they kissed (twice) and she thought Ben was in cahoots with John, but it didn't look that way.

3. Hero being lovestruck by Claudio.

4. John being a TOTAL DUCHE BECAUSE HE'S A DUCHEY-DUCHE TYPE GUY THAT NEEDS TO GET OFF AND GO SOMEWHERE FROM THIS PLANET.

5. Hero breaking out of her pink-girlyness and changing up her look.

So that's all that happened in the novel, summed up by me. It was really really good and I honestly enjoyed myself.

Book Hypothesis: Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty by Jody Gehrman

This is something new on my blog-after two years of previewing and book reviewing (August 12 of this year is my three year anniversary on this blog) I figured I do something new on here (as I tried to do with 'Abuse My Netflix, which I don't have anymore) which is take photos of the books I'm about to read and preview them. This month, this book is called Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty.

From the cover of the book (that's what drew me to the book) I figured this book was about a group of people who love coffee. Or about a college group of girls who works at the coffee house called Triple Shot Betty and while working there falls in love with three boys and all three of them fall in love.

From the back, it has names of the characters-Amber, John, Hero, Claudio, Geena, and Ben. So I'm guessing that all of them are falling in love with each other, except Geena and Ben, who obviously hate each other. Hero and Claudio are dating, Amber told John that she loves him, but John wants Hero, but Hero's in love with Claudio....

Oy vey this sounds like a really good book.

Book Review: Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

Pandemonium (Delirium, #2)Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Since I skipped the first book, Delirium (thanks, public library) I didn't know what to expect when I picked up Pandemonium. Pandemonium is my first YA Dystopian novel, and it interested me a lot.

Thoughout the story, it has flashbacks when Lena was in the Wilds with Raven and her group while thinking about Alex while in the present, Lena goes to a meeting with the DFA, and gets captured with a boy named Julian Fineman, a rich kid who hasn't been though the operation to get rid of the deliria, aka love. After being captured by the Savengers and kept in one room for days, they finally escape to a homestead, where rat-man and Coin took care of them before they went to another homestead, this time the one Lena remembers, and they stay there for one night until they were captured by the SWAT team and Lena was reunited with Tack and Raven, while Julian went back to his father.

Tack and Raven told Lena that everything she went through was planned by Tack and Raven. Lena got mad and as soon as they left and went to a homestead, Lena snuck out to the Fineman residence, where she found a book in the forbidden library and found information about her mother. Running out the house after almost getting caught by Thomas Fineman, she goes to the hospital (she overheard Thomas on the phone-she was there finding Julian), where she slipped in a glass-window room and watched as they brought Julian in, ready for his execution.

But that didn't happen, did it?

Thanks to Raven, she burst in and shot Thomas Fineman, I forgot who she beat up, and Lena, Julian, and Raven ran outside, where Julian and Lena made promises to be together forever.

"Don't believe her." a voice says.

Lena turns around....and dun dun dun, it's Alex....dead boy Alex. SUPPOSED to be dead Alex.

In the immortal words of Stewie Griffin: What the deuce?

Book Preview: Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

"So what was your name before?" I say, and she freezes, her back to me. "Before you came to the Wilds, I mean."
For a moment she stands there. Then she turns around. "You might as well get used to it now," she says with quiet intensity. "Everything you were, the life you had, the people you knew....dust." She shakes her head and says, a little more firmly, "There is no before. There is only now, and what comes next."

Ser Jaime Lannister: I Don't Hate Him Anymore

Maybe it's because next week Game of Thrones season 4 is about to come on, or that Jaime Lannister had grown on me. Once upon a time, I would hate his guts, hate everything about him, but as the show (and story) progressed, I honestly...felt sorry for him..and I fell for him.

I was supposed to HATE him, but then he grew on me SO BADLY. I don't know if is the beard or the eyes or his charming attitude or WHAT, but DAMMIT JAIME, WHY DID YOU TURN HAWT TO ME NOW??? Why, why why why???

Oh don't give me that look, you beautiful, dirty man you...I'm supposed to hate you, but instead I love you now....damn damn damn.....

Book Review: Classic: An It Girl Novel by Cecily von Ziegesar

Classic (It Girl, #10)Classic by Cecily von Ziegesar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's Valentine's day at Waverly, and everyone is paired up for that week, thanks to the Perfect Match system. Everyone's happy....or are they? Jenny Humphries thought she can spend the whole week with her perfect boyfriend, Isaac Dresdsen, the dean's son. But things don't go well at the Valentine's Dance where Isaac's girlfriend, Molly, showed up and Jenny realized that Isaac was nothing more than a liar and she ran out of the Ball, but before she ran back to Dumbarton, she looked at her friend Brett Messerschmidt, who saw the text message between Isaac and Molly when she went over the dean's house to spend time with her Perfect Match, which was Isaac and not Jenny. Jenny was paired up with Julian McCafferty, who was nice to her during the week.

Callie was torn between two guys-Brandon Buchanan and Easy Walsh, who came back from military school. She met up with Easy before school started (that was because he was standing outside waiting on her) and during the week, all she cared about was both boys, until she realized that all she cared about was what Easy was doing, and not Brandon. Oh and Callie was paired with Alan St. Girard, a stoner and Brandon was paired with a girl named Cora, who basically did the Perfect Match thing and liked Brandon and at the end (*sounds like Sheldon Cooper* spoiler alert!) get together. At the Valentine's Ball, both Easy and Brandon collected hearts and the people was about to announce the name of the person who got the most hearts, Brandon said 'forget it' because before they started searching for these hearts to Callie, she sent them a break-up form e-mail, thanks to stoner Alan, and at the end, Easy and Callie got together.

Oh Miss Tinsley Carmichael. Tinsley, Tinsley, Tinsley. What can I say about you? Your Perfect Match was Heath Ferro and you got your revenge with your best friend Brett on Isla (no, not Elsa from Disney's Frozen), whom you hate so much after the party she threw at the dean's house, but got you in trouble and had to do community service. But when you tried to find out what did Isla did in her old school, you went diggin' until you found Isla's geeky ex-boyfriend Xander, got some EMBRASSING photos of her, and at the Ball showed them to the school. You, my friend, were the only one laughing while everyone else glared at you. In the bathroom in which you slinked to, you and Isla called it truce.

Brett Messerschmidt, your partner in crime, was deeply jealous of Isla to go through with this Operation: Embrass Isla that you ignored your boyfriend Sebastian Valenti because he was litterly all over Isla and you were jealous. You were also matched up with Jenny's boyfriend Isaac and when you saw those text messages, you wanted to tell Jenny but you didn't until the end when Jenny met Molly and left. But you got back in Sebastian's good graces at the end.

All in all this was a good book and I enjoyed it a whole lot.
