Book Review: New Spring [Wheel of Time, #0) by Robert Jordan

New Spring (Wheel of Time, #0)New Spring by Robert Jordan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I honestly loved the book. Though I've read this series kinda backwards with 'Winter's Heart' when I was in middle school and I loved it. And now that I'm older, I wanted to read the series again, starting with this book (though I need the rest of them).

Since this book was long, I think I need to break it down by separating it into two parts.

So the first part was when Moiraine and her friend, Siuan, were Accepted and was in the room when the Amyriln Seat had a vision: the Dragon will be reborn again, on Dragonmount. With the other Accepteds, they went to different towns, searching for the baby but couldn't find him. Also they were in training to be Aes Sedai, and they did-Moiraine passed, doing one hundred weaves, and I think Siuan did too-and then they had to do some work for the Blue Aes Sedai for a while, until Moiraine left to find the baby boy that was born on Dragonmount.

During her journey, Moiraine meets some Aes Sedai, including Casudane, who called her a child (which she is not), and then told her that she’ll be checking to make sure she was there, and she also had to travel with the other two Aes Sedai that was with Casduane to that place that I forgot, but I know the castle is called Aesdaishan Palace.

The second part of the story had to deal with Lan Mandragoran, how he was fighting the Blight, then how he was returning home with Bakuma and Ryne (which turned out to be a Darkfriend….dang it). The only character I didn’t like was that woman who kept Lan on a tight leash, but the funny part was that when Moiraine meet Lan and she got wet because of him, and wanted to make him scream, but was nearly close to doing it too.

BUT THE ENDING. THE ENDING….THE ENDING, AS ALWAYS, MAKE ME MAD. First off, the Aes Sedai in the Palace turned out to be a Black Ajah, and though Moiraine did her best to try and save the boy and the girl, that stupid Ajah made her let them go, making them fall. But I’m glad that both Lan and Moiraine are alright, and then the Epilogue made me feel a lot better when Lan became Moiraine’s Warder.
