Book Review: Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2)Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OH. MY. GOD.

THIS. BOOK. THOUGH.

Once again, Cassandra Clare has written the most wonderful book that took me a long time to read (thanks school) but I enjoyed it a lot and it took me almost a long time to do this review. So how did I enjoy this book?

Well I enjoyed it. A lot. The first part of the book made me mad because of Will being a dingle-donger. How did he become a dingle-donger in the first part, you ask? Well for one he kept going to Magnus (in which I STILL WANNA CLIMB THAT MAN LIKE A TREE, but in this book they were in the same room together. SAME ROOM. I ALMOST DIED.) because he was looking for the demon that "cursed" him. Then he and Tessa went to the Lightwood party where Tessa went as Jessamaine and Nate told her almost everything they wanted to know...even when Tessa found out that Nate and Jessamaine was married (in which I didn't believe one bit....one bit at all). When they came back to the Institute from the party, Tessa told her friend Sophie to wake Charlotte so she can tell them everything they learned. While Charlotte went to call the Slient Brothers, Jessamaine kept swearing up and down that Nate loved her, and Tessa kept telling her that he didn't.

THEN FINALLY, when Will found the demon and found that that he didn't place a curse on him or his family, he ran back to the Institution to confess his love for Tessa, it was too late-Jem had already asked her to marry him, and she said yes. Will tried to get her to break the enagement, but Tessa won't do it.

But can we talk about Jem x Tessa, or Jessa? Please? At first I wasn't feelin' it, but the more I read, the more...I...actually...ship....them. *gasp* I know. From finding Will in that opium den to visiting Jessamine in the Slient City, I slowly started to ship them. A lot. And I can't wait to read what happens with them in the third book.

But at the end when they exposed Mr. Lightwood (while Will caterwauled about demon pox) and voted for Charlotte to keep running the Insitiute, those clockwork automotations came down, making those annoying clicking sounds-but anyway, one of them jumped down and Henry "killed it", smashing it with his fist and turned out it was a spy from Mortmain when he found out that Mr. Lightwood betrayed him.

So Charlotte's still running the Insitute, Jem and Tessa are getting married, Will's heartbroken....or is he...when his sister comes and wants to train to be a Shadowhunter.

WOT?!

But I loved this book and I do reconmend this a lot.

Book Review: Shalador's Lady: A Black Jewels Novel by Anne Bishop

Shalador's Lady (The Black Jewels, #8)Shalador's Lady by Anne Bishop
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shalador's Lady is the first Anne Bishop book I've read (even though Queen of the Darkness is on my TBR shelf at the moment....along with other books I need to read *cough* Queen of Shadows *cough* BUT in all honesty I fell in love with this book a lot. The characters, the world, the Scelties, the political way of court-EVERYTHING about this book honestly made me happy-and I couldn't put this book down for one minute. NOT. ONE.

The only characters I didn't like was Prince Theran and Kermilla. But can we talk about Kermilla, please? I. CANNOT. STAND. HER. I have dubbed her "Queen Mega Bitch" who whines all the damn time about Cassidy and how she's doing well in her court, while her's is completely broken. Bish, please. Then when she got this STUPID idea to send one of her Warlord Princes to Eyota where Cassie was-and told him to STEAL Khollie, the Scelite that DOESN'T BELONG TO HER, she goes all whiney and bitchy and whines to Theran like, "I'm the Queen, I get what I want!" and yadda yadda yadda. Honestly, every time I read her chapters, I picture her as Kim Kardashian, just fucking WHINING about everything. Oh, and she's a GOLD-DIGGING BITCH when she keeps asking for money-something she don't have. And NO Warlord Prince wanted to even be around her-not even Theran's dumbass, who oddly reminded me of Theon Greyjoy in A Clash of Kings. LIKE THE BOTH OF YOU NEED TO SIT YOUR DUMB-ASSES DOWN. But when Kermilla was kicked out of Castle Greyhaven, I said, "Bye, Felicia, BYE."

But the most funniest part of the book was at the end, when High Lord Saetan gave her a necklace that melted in her skin and gave her a new face so everyone can see it, she screamed and complained about it, but honestly....she DESERVED IT. I'm glad High Lord Saetan gave that necklace to her before Lady Sabrina picked her up and took her home-SHE DESERVED EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED TO HER. EVERYTHING.

I can sit here and rant about Theran's stupid ass, but then it'll overshadow this book review when I can talk about Lady Cassidy's court, and how she's making a hella difference in Eyota-to the point that everyone is taking notice and that everyone wants to be in her court. But there was a little romance in there with Cassie and Gray/Jared Blaed, whom I shipped...a lot....a hella lot.....a lot lot....and in the end they got married! Yay!!!

Even though some oldies were in this book (Daemon Sadi and Jaenelle Angelline, Saetan, Prince Luvicar, and Surreal) I LOVED THIS BOOK. A LOT. I do reconmend this book and this book series!!!1

Book Review: A Game of Thrones: A Graphic Novel by George R.R. Martin and Daniel Abraham

A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 by Daniel Abraham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you have read the books or seen the show on HBO, then you know what part of this Graphic Novel is about. I enjoyed this book, the art-everything about the story (as usual) I loved a lot. George R.R. Martin and Daniel Abraham, you didn't disappoint me at all.

I honestly loved the art in the book-and my favorite characters from the graphic novel is Catelyn-not because of the character, because of how beautiful she's drawn-and I fell for her hair. The second one is Sansa Stark-how beautful she was drawn in too. And last but not least, Daenerys Targaryen, she was drawn in REALLY really well.

I want the second volume of this graphic novel because it was so beautiful and everything was drawn in wonderfully.

Book Review: l8r, g8r by Lauren Myracle

l8r, g8rl8r, g8r by Lauren Myracle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've read l8r, g8r a long time ago, and picking this up while coming back home from my trip, it was a quick read for me and I enjoyed it a lot. With all the lingo and the many texts and IMs the girls go through, I loved this book a whole lot and now I wanna read Yolo really soon.

Basically, it's the girls' final year of high school, and they're preparing to go to college, but Zoe's (zoegirl) boyfriend came back from traveling around the world and they have sex while also trying to avoid jana, but that didn't work. Her mom wants her to go to Princeton, but she wanted to go to Kenyon. And the stupid part was about that was when her mom was like, 'well, i'm glad you're going to kenyon, but you're paying for it yourself.'

mad maddie is single, not caring about her friends' relationship drama and is focus on going to Santa Cruz. Then she meets up with Ian, her ex, and they get back together for a while before they decided to be friends again (I might be wrong about that part).

And SnowAngel? Let's just say she's getting even with jana after what she did to zoegirl, she's going to the University of Georgia (GO BULLDOGS!!!!) and hoped that maddie and zoe was going too. She was dating Logan, but after he brought her a car-A CAR-she realized she didn't love him and wanted to be friends with him....BUT SADLY Logan, the dingus, was sleeping with Jana :(

I loved this book a lot and I do recommend this book a whole lot.

Book Review: American Vampire Vol. 3 by Scott Snyder

American Vampire, Vol. 3American Vampire, Vol. 3 by Scott Snyder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So this review is late...

But I LOVED this comic. Though it was volume 3, I really really enjoyed the artwork, the story, Skinner Sweet (really weird that I liked him) and the new take on vampires-I loved it all. Then the other story about two hunters pretending to be synthesizers to a group of Nazi German vampires, even though one of the hunters had a son who was a vampire himself.

I've read this one over the summer when I was in Florida, and I couldn't stop reading it-it was so good that I read it twice. I loved the characters, the fight between Skinner and Pearl, but I did cry a little when Pearl killed Skinner, after he said, "I told you you had spunk. That's why I picked you, see? Because deep down, beneath your little housewife act, you're a bad girl, aren't you? A Bad, bad girl...all you needed was someone to bring it out of you. That's what's I'm here to do. Always."

Out of all the characters in the book, I liked Skinner Sweet more. Don't know why I do, but I guess it's because of his bad boy nature and how he kills people...I don't know what it is about Skinner, but I liked him the most. And now I really wanna get all the American Vampire Series so I can read more of the comic because I really enjoyed it.

Book Review: The Man in the Iron Mask by Alexander Dumas (Adaptation by Roy Thomas)

The Man in the Iron MaskThe Man in the Iron Mask by Roy Thomas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This graphic novel is an adaptation of the book The Man in the Iron Mask by Alexander Dumas, which tells the tale about King Louis XIV and about his twin brother, Philippe, who was in the Bastille for ten years to prevent a war he might set off. This book was very enjoyable, even though I never actually read the novel itself (which I'm going to do real soon when I get a chance) and if you read the original novel or seen the movie starring Mr. Leonardo DiCaprio, then you know what happens in this book: The Three Musketeers are no more and living each other's lives.

Aramis has a scheme to put the twin brother of King Louis XIV on the throne and it worked-until it failed, thanks to Surintendant M. Forquet, wouldn't agree to anything this stupid, really. Philippe, the King's twin, was forced to wear an iron mask over his face forever to hide his face, so no one will know who he truly is. Then Aramis and Porthos fled to Belle-Isle, where D'Artagnan found them and Porthos died, leaving Aramis to flee by boat, hoping to reach Spain.

Athos, who wasn't in all this mess, was mourning his son Raoul, who was in Africa on a military mission. Raoul hoped to find death is Africa because of his love for the King's mistress, Louise de la Valliere. In a dream, Athos dreams of his son dying, waking up to call his name, but when he found out he's dead, he died in the bed.

Then four years later, D'Artagnan and Aramis reunite during a war between France and Spain, but then D'Artagan died in battle, leaving Aramis alive.

This was a really good book and I enjoyed reading this.

Book Review: The Exile, an Outlander Graphic Novel by Diana Gabaldon

The Exile: An Outlander Graphic NovelThe Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel by Diana Gabaldon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first time reading a Diana Gabaldon novel (and it just so happens to be a graphic novel) and...I fell in love with it. If you already read the books, then you know what this is about, but this is told by Jamie's side (and though I prefer Sam Heaughan to play Jamie in the show...) BUT I really enjoyed this novel-especially when he apologies before he spanked Claire (and if that was me, I would've knocked the daylights outta him if he ever did that to me).

The artwork in this book blew me away-I loved every single picture and how the characters were drawn and depicted. And how Diana mixed English in with Gaelic (I think), it was beautiful. But Jamie and Claire's wedding made me laugh a little bit-after they said their 'I dos' she fell out-but Jamie stayed with her...in which I did this:

AND WHEN HE SAVED CLAIRE OMG. I WANTED TO MARRY THE LITTLE GOOBER RIGHT THEN AND THERE.

AND WHEN HE SAID THIS:

I died. A lot. A lot, lot.

So I do really really reconmend this book, and I know I'm going to be reading the Outlander series real soon!!!
