Book Review: A Game of Thrones: A Graphic Novel by George R.R. Martin and Daniel Abraham

A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 by Daniel Abraham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you have read the books or seen the show on HBO, then you know what part of this Graphic Novel is about. I enjoyed this book, the art-everything about the story (as usual) I loved a lot. George R.R. Martin and Daniel Abraham, you didn't disappoint me at all.

I honestly loved the art in the book-and my favorite characters from the graphic novel is Catelyn-not because of the character, because of how beautiful she's drawn-and I fell for her hair. The second one is Sansa Stark-how beautful she was drawn in too. And last but not least, Daenerys Targaryen, she was drawn in REALLY really well.

I want the second volume of this graphic novel because it was so beautiful and everything was drawn in wonderfully.

Book Review: A Clash of Kings, a Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin

A Clash of KingsA Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh good lord this book. I had this book since last year and it took me THIS LONG to read it. And honestly....IT WAS PERFECT. Even though this is the book the inspired the second season of GoT, I thought I break it down by house like I did the first book.

House Baratheon: This book introduced Stannis Baratheon, Robert's and Renly's brother, who lives at Dragonstone with his wife and daughter. He teamed up with Melisandre of Asshai, the Red Woman, and he also became the champion of the Lord of Light (or R'hllor. Like....IT'S REALLY HARD TO SAY). Then in Highgarden, Renly is king and he married Margaery Tyrell, but he died by a shadow, and people thought that Brienne of Tarth, one of his Kingsguard, had killed him, or even Catelyn did it. But they didn't. Also, in the Battle for Kings Landing, Stannis lost to the Lannisters. Also....Stannis isn't a ham. Darn it.

House Greyjoy: Honestly....I didn't care one bit for Theon's chapters. Really, I didn't. He whined throughout all of his chapters, from returning to the Pike to taking over Winterfell, even styling himself Prince Theon-his chapters just...got on my nerve that I honestly wanted to skip his chapters.

House Lannister: Okay...honestly, though I don't care about Cersei, I was all the way #TeamTyrion. Tyrion did everything as the acting Hand of the King to make sure everyone was okay, even though the peasants hated him. Even in the Battle he did splendidly till he got cut. Also...I squealed when I read Jaime's part in Catelyn's chapter. But at the end of the battle, Tywin became hand of the king, and Tyrion was laid up in a room above the Queen's Ballroom.

House Stark: So Ned Stark is dead. Robb Stark is the Young King of the North, winning battles. Catelyn visits Renly to see if he can ally himself with Robb, then went back to Riverrun to be with her late father. Sansa's stuck in King's Landing with Joffrey and Cersei, who keeps calling her 'stupid' and 'idiot'. Tyrion's nice to her, and Ser Dontos keeps promising her that 'oh, I'm taking you home, I'm taking you home' but THIS LIAR didn't even do it. Then The Hound scared her, but she did sang to her during the battle for Kings Landing. And Arya went through so many phases-from being a boy named Arry, then at Harrenhal she was Weasel and Nan, and also Jaqen H'Gar was in her chapters too (in which I also squealed). She was Nan for Roose Bolton, but at night she, Hot Pie and Gendry left, but before that Jaqen gave her the sliver coin, and taught her valar morghulis.

House Targaryen: So Dany's in Qarth, living with Xho Xhos-that guy-and Pyat Pree from the House of the Undying-WHICH, might I add, IS HORRIBLE AND DISGUSTING. I wouldn't go in there, even if I had a million dragons. But then she left because Xho just wanted to marry her and wanted her to stay, but she said no ONE MILLION TIMES and left with her Dothraki. And I'm also glad that the House of the Undying fell to the ground. Dammit.

I loved this book so much that I wanna read the next book!

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OH. MY. GOD. THIS BOOK, THO. I've been reading this book since I got it (I don't remember when I got it...) but I've read it before class starts, during dinner if I'm out, practically everywhere because I wanted to finish this book so so badly. So in this review I'm going to break it up by Houses.

House Stark-The book starts out with Bran Stark riding out with his father Eddard, his brother Robb, and his half-brother, Jon and they found the direwolves. Then King Robert comes to Winterfell and the two went to Lyanna's grave, and Robert asks Ned can he be hand of the King. I forgot if Ned says yes or no (I have short-term memory loss) so the Starks (Ned, Arya, and Sansa) goes to King's Landing, Jon goes off to the Wall with Benjen Stark, and Robb, Catelyn, Bran, and Rickon stay in Winterfell. While in Winterfell, Bran climbed up the tower and saw Jaime and Cersei making love and with the words, "The things I do for love," Jaime pushes Bran to the ground, breaking his legs and making him unable to move his legs. Then Ned and Catelyn got a letter from Catelyn's sister, Lysa, saying something about the Lannisters and a couple of chapters later in a tavern, Catelyn spotted Tyrion and captured him and took him to the Vale, where he was persecuted (I think) and was on trial for trying to kill Bran. Tyrion was found not guilty (but he's on my 'I'm going to hit people' list) and was set free. In King's Landing, Ned's trying to solve the Who-dun-it case of who killed Jon Arryn and he wound up getting beheaded by King Bitch Boy Joffery Baratheon after being accused of killing the King (WHICH, by the way, he didn't do). Sansa was in love with Joffrey, but then Joff's true colors was shown and he called Sansa a 'stupid girl' (in which I would slap him ten times hard) and have his knights slap her hard. Jon's on the Wall, taking the Black and becoming steward to the Old Bear who is grooming him for Commander.

House Lannister-Where can I start with this House? I hate, no, I ahobr this family SO DANG MUCH. Jaime's a little igit, wounding Lord Stark, then going into war THEN he gets himself caught by Robb Stark. Cersei...Cersei's such a little bitch, telling Sansa to write those stupid letters to her family to swear featley to Joffrey and delcare him the true him. TRICK PLEASE. Tyrion...now I like Tyrion, I have no problems with Tyrion, but SAY ONE MORE THING ABOUT YOUR DANG DADDY, I WILL HIT YOU, SON. Lord Tywin, I forever hate you and I can't stand you.

House Targaryen-AKA my house. Dany marries Khal Drogo because Viserys told her to, got pregnant, lose the baby, her husband and half of the khalasar, got dragon eggs as a present, and those dragon eggs hatched and turned into three dragons. Viserys...Viserys just got a golden crown in which he died. Sadly he wasn't a true dragon and fire cannot kill a dragon.

House Baratheon-I wonder should I just say the things that is on my mind because King Robert did a good job ruling, Renly was just the sweetest ever, and I just don't like Joff.
