Book Review: A Kiss at Midnight by Eloisa James

A Kiss at Midnight (Fairy Tales, #1)A Kiss at Midnight by Eloisa James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book...is beautifully written and it made me cry to the point that I almost had to put the book down. It also made me a little bit mad, because I wanted to shove Kate and Gabriel's heads together and yell, "NOW, KISS, GOTDANGIT!!" But in all honestly, I loved this book, like I always do Mrs. Eloisa James's novels, and it makes me want to read more of them.

What I Liked About the Book: The characters, oddly enough. I loved Kate, Gabriel, Victoria, Algie, and Lady Worthe-Henry. These characters are my favorite ones...I knew the reason why I loved them, but I lost the thought as I'm sitting here writing this review. I also loved the dresses and how slow Kate and Gabriel fell in love, even though she was there to pretend to be Victoria. And I also loved those three dogs-including Freddie.

The One Thing I Disliked About the Book: The stepmama. Good LORD I wanted to strangle that woman...but thank god she appeared in the beginning of the book and was mentioned throughout the rest.

At first...I didn't ship Kate and Gabriel. I really didn't-she was a lady but worked for her stepmama (as the hundreds of Cinderellas did), he was a prince who was supposed to marry a Russian Princess...but then as I kept reading, I slowly, slowly, slowly started to ship them. And now they're my OTP-right next to Elijah and Jemma and the Duke of Fletcher and Poppy.

Also....I CRIED. THE ENDING, THE MIDDLE OF THE BOOK....ALL OF THE FEELS.

Book Review: The Ghost King (Forgotten Realms: Legend of Drizzt #19) by R.A Salvatore

The Ghost King (Forgotten Realms: Transitions, #3; Legend of Drizzt, #19)The Ghost King by R.A. Salvatore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So...this book tho....it was amazing....BUT THE ENDING DONE MADE ME MAD. Why did this book make me mad? Then keep reading the review to find out...

To start off the book, Catti-Brie goes into a weird trance THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE ENTIRE BOOK, which ticked me off, really. In one scene, she thinks she's petting Guenhwyvar and in another, she thought she was in a room with Drizzt, giving him her heart when she was with Wulfgar. I think Drizzt almost shed a tear every single time she went through this trance, but thank god for Jarlaxle.

Speaking of Jarlaxle.....WHERE THE DEUCE DID YOU COME FROM, BRUH? Like...everything was fine, hunky-dory, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU SHOWED UP WITH THE FRIGGIN' EYEPATCH FOR DRIZZT, EVEN THOUGH THE STUPID DRAGOLICH IS AFTER YOU. But in all honestly, you did a good job.

BUT YOUR FRIGGIN PARTNER, ATHROGATE? Dude, SHUT UP WITH YOUR RHYMING SELF BEFORE I FIND SOMEWAY TO THROTTLE YOU. But you were awesome too.

And that stupid illithid? Yharaskrik? He thought he could control Hephaestus, but sadly he couldn't. He, along with the Crenshinibon, molded with the dragon to turn him to the Ghost King, and the only thing Hephaestus wanted with Jarlaxle (apparently Jarlaxle did something to him that the dragon wants revenge?) BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN, DID IT? Nope, because Drizzt, in the last and final battle, crack through the side of the Ghost King and TORE HIM UP IN THE INSIDE. LIKE....I CAN'T WITH THAT.

But Danica and Cadderly's children fight so well as well (though I can't remember their names at the moment).

BUT THE ENDING. THE ENDING JUST....MADE ME MAD. SO MAD. WHY DIDN'T SHE DIDN'T SHE STAY WITH HIM? AND YES I'M YELLING AT HER BECAUSE SHE'S A DING DONG FOR LEAVING DRIZZT! INCLUDING REGIS, DINGUS DAMMIT!

But I loved the book as usual.

Book Review: Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) by Richelle Mead

Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5)Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

HOLY SHIT THIS BOOK THO. I HONESTLY MISSED THIS SERIES SO BAD. From the beginning to end, this have been an amazing book. Some parts of it made me gag, made me wanna throw the book to the wall-it was wonderful and I loved it.

So this book started with the graduation test of Rose, which she graduated with flying colors. Then came the breakout with Victor Dashkov, Lissa's uncle, along with Eddie, so they can find Victor's brother so they can find out a way to save Rose's ex-boyfriend, Dimitri, from being a Strigoi. So they go to Vegas and, along with Adrian, meets up with Robert and Robert told them how to bring someone back from being a Strigoi: charm a stake with spirit, and stake them in the heart. And the part Rose don't like was that only a Spirit user had to do it. Which means Lissa had to do it.

And of course, Rose said hell no-she won't even let Lissa near a Strigoi. But sadly that didn't happen when they came back to Court. Eddie and Rose had do to some work for the guardians while Lissa and Christian went to Lehigh University, where surprise, surprise, Dimitri showed up and kidnapped them, his army of Strigoi killing the group of guardians and Patricia Voda. Since both Rose and Lissa are shadow-kissed and have the bond, Rose saw everything and she went with the rest of the guardian team to save them.

Then something amazing happened during the rescue: Lissa, using her charmed stake, shoving it awkwardly in Dimitri's heart (thanks to Christian's fire), and...Dimitri was back as a Dhampir. Everything should be great, right?

Nope.

Dimitri went with the guardians, and only requested Lissa to see him. Sure Rose was mad, but she agreed, seeing him through the bond. It hurted her so bad to see him that way, and honestly...it made me mad. Dimitri didn't want to see her-okay. But there's Adrian who loves her and would do ANYTHING for her.

A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G.

BUT NO, she kept ignoring him until they spent the night together....and on that same night, the Queen Tatiana was killed...with Rose's sliver stake.

BUT Rose didn't do it.

She went to court and was presented with the evidence, and everyone believed the evidence and she was put in jail.

This book was amazing and I really need to read the last book so I can wish my favorite characters goodbye.

Book Review: Scandal in Spring (Wallflowers, #4) by Lisa Kleypas

Scandal in Spring (Wallflowers, #4)Scandal in Spring by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So this is the fourth book of the Wallflowers and OMG I'm in love with this. And it turns out....me and Daisy have a lot in common like....she loves to read, I love to read. I make wishes sometimes, she makes wishes sometimes....she dreams of the perfect man (and she got it), I'm....single but I'll be okay-I know someone's out there waiting on me.

And who is the man of Daisy's dreams?

Mr. Matthew Swift, the man Daisy and Lillian hates more than ever. He's the total opposite of what Daisy wants-but he'd been in love with her ever since he'd met her-and I was shocked. He even kept a button and a lock of Daisy's hair, which was weird, but honestly? I found it cute.

Also, on the Lillian and Marcus front, they had a baby-little Merritt-and she's so cute!!!

BUT back on Daisy and Matthew...

In one part of the book, Daisy was trying to make Matthew jealous (and honestly...it worked) because in that one week...he wanted to actually kill someone. Even though during the process Lord Llandrion fell for Daisy and kissed her, she didn't feel a thing.

And then that night Matthew and Daisy kissed...and did it (though they talked through it).

The most shocking thing in the book was when this man from Boston came and exposed Matthew from what he truly was-the son of a Irish Drunk who was hired to be his son's friend or something like that. Whatever bad thing the son did, Matthew was blamed for it. Homie even went to college and passed and the son didn't. Matthew even told the truth about his feelings for Daisy, even when she was trying to unlock his handcuffs. And as soon Matthew and Mr. Whatchimacallit was gone out the door with the po po in tow, Marcus and Thomas Bowman went behind them.

Then Matthew got into a accident and Daisy got worried about him to the point that she was in the Marsden room, seperating books before she started thinking about what'll happen if she didn't see him again, all the what ifs dancing in her mind until he came back, and she asked if he was a ghost. He said no, and they did it in the Marden room before he took her to their room.

And while the trial was going on, Daisy went to find a big home in Bristol where all her friends can visit, and she had a book for every room as well. And then finally, they got married, which signaled the end of this book and this series (to me, anyway).

Book Review: Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1)Cinder by Marissa Meyer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

THIS BOOK, THO. THE ENDING...I CAN'T.

This is a retelling of Cinderella, but in the future and I honestly enjoyed it. From the beginning to the end I loved every single moment of it-when she found out she was a Lunar, then when she went to the ball to face Queen Levana....I honestly enjoying it one hundred percent.

My Favorite Characters: Cinder, Prince Kai, Peony (R.I.P), Iko, Dr. Earlnd

Least Favorite Characters: Queen Levana-okay, trick. I DON'T LIKE YOU. You make me so mad, and after reading what you did to your own neice, then you're trying to get Kai to like you...what's worse, you got mad over a bloody mirror and you wanted to kill the servant for that? Really, bro? Really? And what's BLOODY WORSE, you wanted to get rid of Cinder and thought she was lying. BUT SHE SAW RIGHT THROUGH THE GLAMOUR, YOU UGLY WOMAN.

Adri and Pearl-of course I'm going to hate them-they're the wicked stepmother and stepsister. But at least Peony loved her sister instead of being just like your mama. I HATE THE BOTH OF YOU-but not as much as I hate Queen Levana.

Now I honestly can't wait to read Scarlet.

Book Review: Devil in Winter (Wallflowers, #3) by Lisa Kleypas

Devil in Winter (Wallflowers, #3)Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

HOLY CRAP. THIS BOOK THO. This book....had me crying and gasping till the end. And....I am in love with Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent....DANG NABBIT. I swore it wasn't supposed to happen, but as the book progressed and that he started to change...I fell for him. Badly. Dang it.

BUT before we can get into many reasons why I like Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent, let's get into the book review.

The book began with Evie coming to him with a proposition: marry her. Sebastian looked at her like she was crazy at first, but then he decided to do it. But there is a second proposition: they can't make love after the wedding night. At first, he didn't like the idea, but the more he hung around her, even when he took over her father's club, he slowly but surely fell in love with her. After the (tiring) wedding they had at Gretna Green and they made love the day after, they went back to England, Evie wanted to go see her father, who was on his deathbed, at a club named Jenners. Sebastian agreed, and while Evie took care of her father till he passed, she did see her family members again-well, her uncle Peregrine, who pretended to be her friend Annabelle Hunt, thanks to the stupid Joss Bullard, and Sebastian saved her.

The one scene that had me crying all night was when Sebastian was telling Evie about her father's condition, and she didn't believe him one bit, and he yelled at her while moving his hands. Evie thought he was gonna hit her and he noticed....and he swore to her, ya'll-swore to her that he'll never lay a hand on her. Then he asked about who hit her in the past. Evie told him that it was her family that used to hit her, and automatically he said he'll tear him from limb from limb. I have never cried that night when I read that part-and the kiss after it tho....

Then my darling St. Vincent got shot (got dammit) and he was in bed, close to dying, but Marcus (yay!) and Cam Rohan saved him by using four o'clock plant and other things they used I can't remember, and his fever broke. And after that, he became a horrible little patient who rang that little sliver bell for everything (I would've broken it), but it did make Evie break their little bet-for three months he couldn't make love to her, but he can kiss her whenever and where ever he wanted.

At the end, Joss Bullard came back and tried to kill Evie, but Cam shot him dead when he was SUPPOSED to be dead, but in the end, Sebastian and Evie got together, and he became my bae....but now in a good way.
