Book Review: The Silent Blade by R.A. Salvatore

This book took me a while to read, but I enjoyed myself. Even though it flipped between three POVs, which I liked, I liked how we got into the heads of the characters and saw how they feel as they go through their journey. From going to destroy Crenshinibon to fighting demons that cannot be seen, to overcoming Pashas and kinda going into a war with them, reading this book was actually pretty fun. My favorite POV was Drizzt, as usual. But oddly, I liked Artemis Entereri's more.

Artemis came back to Calimport and all of a sudden, all of the thieves' in the thieves' guild were on alert and wonder why Artemis Entereri has suddenly come back--it is because he wants to become the next Pasha? Does he want his title back, the King of Assassins? No one knows why the famous assassin came back home, but they know that whatever he wants, they aren't going to give it to him. So they devise a plan to try and kill him, even kelp-wall him. But Artemis went along with it, even getting some surprising help from the drow and leader of the Bregan D'arethe, Jarlaxle, who helps him take over Calimport and also get rid of the people who didn't do anything or help him. I was also shocked to see that the halflings helped him too (well one halfling-Dwahvel, whom I really liked as Artemis's friend.)

Wulfgar's POV was dark af. After coming back to life and free from Errtu's grasp, Wulfgar still isn't himself, and even when he goes on this journey to give Crenshinibon to Cadderly, he finds himself not really feeling it. After he accidentally punches Catti-Brie after a night of passion because of what happened to him in Errtu's plane, he leaves and goes to Luksan, where he becomes a bouncer for a tavern and also fall in love with one of the barmaids. He spends his nights being with Delly and then drinks the night away, and honestly, I can't think of a simple way to live your life. Also he went to face the shaman that turned the chieftan's son into a spirit, and he got his revenge, but it felt empty, hollow.

As for Drizzt, Cattie-Brie, Bruenor and Regis, they are trying to get to Cadderly's place so they can give him the evil crystal shard, but it feels like everyone and their mama is drawn to the crystal, and they were trying to get to Cadderly fast, until they came across Jarlaxle in the Crystal Tower. Trapping Drizzt in the Tower, Jarlaxle comes up with a plan to get Artemis back to the way he was: a simple fight, just the two of them, to see who won.

Before I went 'R.A. when I see you R.A." for what he did to Drizzt (I was so angry when I read that), I was glad at the end, when he was brought back to life. That honestly scared me, and now that Drizzt is back to life, I am wondering what happened to the Crystal Shard/Crenshinibon, the four friends are wondering if they should go and find Wulfgar, who's living his best life where he is right now.

Book Review: 5 Books All At Once!

Hey y'all and welcome back to my blog! I haven't been posting up anything because of the fact that I've been busy. But since May has been a huge reading month for me, I decided to do five book reviews-all at once. Each book I read I loved (one I really didn't...) but it's okay! June looks like a really good one as soon as I post this up, starting it off with Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong. So without further ado, let's get started with the book reviews!!

Deathless Divide by Justina Ireland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh hello Jane and Katherine, nice to see you again. I really enjoyed the book and I’m sad that things didn’t go the way I thought, but at the end of the day, I’m glad that Gideon Carr is dead. I was shocked when I read how he died-I thought Jane was going to kill him, but then Katherine killed him…it was actually pretty dang good. I loved it and now I’m also sad that the duology is over.

I liked the dual POV from Jane and Katherine. You get to see how they are doing while they are dealing with the aftermath of Summerland, then Jackson’s death, then Nicodemus, then them out in the wild west, trying to find their place to live. I actually liked how Jane became a bounty hunter and fell in love with Callie. I honestly wanted them to stay like that forever, until Callie just upped and left. As for Katherine, she was just heading to California with Sue and the others, trying to find a place to settle down. They do-I forgot the village where Jane’s mama was, but she was there, and Jane just felt uncomfortable there, because she wanted to do something else instead of staying in one place.

I enjoyed the pacing, it was really good, and when Gideon Carr finally died, I felt like a weight was lifted off Jane’s shoulder, because throughout the book she clearly has an obsession with Gideon and wanting to kill him so much, and she does see him again, thanks to Daniel Redfern. Even though Jane didn’t kill him, I was kinda wishing that she did. All in all, this was a really good book. I enjoyed it a whole lot. Wish there was another book after this, but I understand why the author made it into a duology.

Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor

So this book…first time reading this book after it came out when I was in high school or middle school…and it’s okay. The whole going back in time I really didn’t like, because it threw me off and confused me. I don’t think I’ll pick up the next two books from the library, mostly because of the fear of reading another go back in time and things not sounding straight.

But I did enjoy the parts I like-like Karou using wishes, Brimstone reprimanding her, and then how the doors were burning and everything going to hell. It’s okay, I felt like it could be better but I just dealt with it as the story went on. Some of the chapters were short and sweet, the others were long and explains a whole lot. I did think that Karou going down the slide was fun and meeting Thiago who nearly chokes the hell out of her.

And Akiva…eh…he’s okay. He’s nothing that interesting, tbh. Yes he’s an angel, but all he did was dwell on who Karou is or what she looks like at all of that. He might be big and strong and all that, but to be honest he’s kinda…boring. Sorry if you liked him a long time ago. He’s just boring and not my type, and if he gets more interesting in the book, cool, if not, then okay.

I liked this book, the writing was okay, but I just thrown around with the whole other backstory for Karou/Madigal.

Neon Gods by Katee Robert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Katee Robert has got a new fan in me. HO-LEE-SHYT this book was so good. I enjoyed this book, mostly because I went in with very low expectations. But the spice was really good, especially when Hades asks for consent. CONSENT YA”LL. That is the most sexiest thing I’ve ever read in a book, and when a man asks for consent, I’m down, I’m done, I’m yours. And the ending. Once again, HO-LEE-SHYT.

But I really loved how Persephone grew in the book, from being society’s darling to becoming her own woman, who won’t take no shit, even from Zeus and from the Thirteen. I think the one thing I really liked from this book is that they don’t have any of their God-like powers. They’re just people like you and me, and it’s almost like a royalty story, with the Thirteen and all that. I really enjoyed this book so much that I’m hyped to read the other books.

My favorite part is when Hades told Persephone, “You are a really shitty custodian to your body.” and that just blew me away. I was mad at first when he told her that, but then as Persephone told him that she didn’t even eat, I can see why. Good lord, girl. I also loved how Persephone trusted Hades with her, because she felt safe, which I started to really love as I kept reading.

I really do highly recommend this book, I really enjoyed it, it threw me around a couple times, and I love Hades and Persephone and their relationship SO MUCH, y’all. So, so much.

The Affair at the Victory Ball - a Hercule Poirot Short Story by Agatha Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Basically this mystery was so quick, I felt like instead of Poirot solving the case, we got Rampo from Bungo Stray Dogs solving the mystery, and Atsushi was just…there in a way. I loved how quick he solved it, and even though it was a short story, I wish I knew what really went on in the Victory Ball, to learn and see what really happened. But it was short and sweet and I enjoyed it every much.

Siege of Darkness by R.A. Salvatore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book wasn’t supposed to be funny-but it was. It was funny because of the fact that Drizzt whacked himself in the face with a tree. But after all that, this was once again a good book to read, and this time, it is a war for Mithral Hall. People did die, some did survive, one fell into his werewolf powers and killed a weapons master, and yes, Errtu was in this, but he wasn’t even that present in the book. Lolth was in the book was well, but good lord she’s very ambitious, even driving one of the oldest Matron Mothers to her death.

But let’s start at why this war for Mithral Hall is happening…

Matron Banere, with the help of the old dwarf magically hidden in a tooth, Gandalug Battlehammer, plotted out how she was going to take Mithral Hall and turn the poor dwarfs into slaves. She also wanted revenge for what Drizzt Do’Urden did to her and all of Menzoberranzan, so she starts to plot. Meanwhile, everyone in Mithral Hall is getting ready for this fight between the drow of the Underdark, and they get help from the Harpells, Silverymoon and Settlestone. Wulfgar’s presence was there when they talked about Aegis-Fang and how, if Wulfgar was alive, he would’ve been in the battle, though now I wonder what happened to him when he was caught by the damned yochlol, but I think we’re going to figure it out once I get to the next book.

The war was kinda slow. Jarlaxle was barely in it, in my opinion-he was just there, along with Quenthel and Triel. Even though Quenthel was killed by Drizzt and Matron Banere was killed by Bruenor Battlehammer (good for him), I think they were the stars, along with Drizzt and the others. I also like how the story kept switching with everyone, and the shocking thing in the story was that Lady Alurstriel showed up and helped the war.

There was a time in the book called The Time of Trouble, where magic went away, as if it never existed. Gwenhwyvar couldn’t go back to the astral plane, Bidderdoo tried to find a way to cure himself of being a werewolf, and the magic of Menzoberranzan was gone, and there was a little war breaking out in Menzoberranzan, with House Oblodara attacking another Matron Mother and killing her because she had her psionic powers…it was a whole-ass mess and I loved every bit of it. I can’t wait to read the next book of this series because I love it so much.

Book Review: Starless Night (Legend of Drizzt, #8) by R.A. Salvatore

Hello folks, and welcome to another book review with our favorite dark elf ranger, Drizzt. This time, Drizzt is leaving Mithral Hall to go back to Menzoberranzan to stop the dark elves from attacking Mithral Hall again. He does give Guenhwyvar to Regis, and told him to tell Cattie-Brie and Bueneor in tendays-if he didn’t come back. I felt a bit hurt when Drizzt did this, because he’s not letting his friends help him with his journey. He even went to Cattie-Brie’s DOOR and stood there, wanting to say goodbye, but he didn’t. Just stood at the door, hand poised to knock and say that he’s leaving, and didn’t say a damn thing, but left.

When Cattie-Brie went to Regis and asked him where Drizzt went, he lied, but then, after a near-death attempt (jacking him up, slapping him) Regis finally told her were poor Drizzt went. Shocked and destroyed her room, Cattie-Brie, taking Guenhwyar with her, went down to Menzoberranzan. She first went to Silverymoon and met the beautiful Alustriel, who didn’t know where Drizzt was, but she did help Cattie-Brie by giving her horses with magical horseshoes and made a dwarven houseservant named Fret go with her. Even though it was funny to read when Cattie-Brie sniffed Alustrel’s perfumes and nearly choked herself to death, I find it really cute that she did that.

Drizzt, meanwhile, goes to a forest where he meets several surface elves, including one that he saved during a surface raid party, where he hid said girl underneath her mother’s dead body, pretending to kill her. She attacked him before she cried in his arms, then he and another elf named Tarathiel left and went to the grove of Montolio, where they saw a unicorn. Drizzt went over and pet it, slowly, and he took it as a sign from the goddess Mielikki that she approves of what he was doing, his sacrifice. Then he goes into the underdark, not even knowing that Cattie-Brie and Guenhwyvar went down two days after him.

First, Drizzt went to Blingenstone, where he stayed for several day after he got hit really bad by some machine, I can’t remember what it was, before he left and went back down to Menzoberranzan, where he disguised himself as a slave driver for a bit in the Island of Rothé before he was caught and was taken to Matron Baenere. Cattie-Brie, on the other hand, was right next to him before she got caught by Jarlaxle and the Bregan D’arthe.

The most surprising thing out of this whole book was Enteri, who was SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD, but he survived, thanks to Jarlaxle. He was down there, healing and learning the ways of the drow, thanks to Jarlaxle, even going far as to making a deal with Cattie-Brie to help her get out of Menzoberranzan and save Drizzt from the clutches of Matron Banere while she’s doing a ceremony. While all of that was happening, Drizzt was getting tortured by one of Matron Banere’s daughter, Vendres, and once Cattie-brie and Enteri found him, they helped free him and Drizzt killed his torturer before getting out of his cell.

While they were escaping, Drizzt fought Dantrag Banere and won, killing him and getting his braces. Cattie-Brie grabbed Dantrag’s evil sword, Khazid’hea, which turned into a weapon from Mielikki, tricking the two of them as they left to go back to Mithral Hall. They did stop where Wulfgar died before they were nearly attacked by dwarves, only to find out that Regis became Commander, which shocks the both of them, but they were back home nonetheless.
I truly enjoyed this book. It made me mad, gasp, almost cry, and was on the edge of my seat. I loved every bit of it and I can’t to read the next book, to see how this arc, I guess I can call it, goes. I hope they can protect Mithral Hall from Matron Banere, because I really like Mithral Hall, and hope they do Wulfgar justice I guess?

Book Review: The Legacy (Legend of Drizzt #7) by R.A. Salvatore

Hello, and welcome to This book broke me in a million ways, lemme tell you how because OH MY GOOD LORD THIS BOOK. This book right here broke me in a million ways. Well for one, the whole entire thing happened in Mithral Hall/near the Underdark. Secondly, I didn’t like the way Wulfgar went out the way he did, thirdly, I would like to throw Artemis Entreri, along with Dio Brando, STRAIGHT TO FLORIDA WHERE THEY BELONG. Because honestly, WHAT THE HELL MAN.

So first off, let’s start off in the beginning. Vierna, Drizzt’s sister (yes, the nice, kind sister) had came to Jarlaxle (that, turns out, I really like) and told him and her other brother, Dinin (yeah, him. He’s still alive. Shocking) that she’s going to bring House Do’Urden back to power, back in the Lloth’s good graces. How, you might ask? BY GETTING MY BABY BOY, MY HUSBAND, DRIZZT DO’URDEN, AND SACRIFICING HIM. So Vierna comes up with a plan, somehow roping Entreri into this so he can get into a fight with Drizzt, and also turn Dinin into a drider. THAT’S RIGHT, SHE TURNED HER OWN BROTHER INTO A GODDAMNED DRIDER.

On the other side of the world, Wulfgar and Cattie-Brie are about to get married (hooray!) and Brueor couldn’t be happier. All except...Artemis, using the mask Drizzt used to get into Calimport, pretended to be Regis and planted some not-true memories thanks to the ruby pendant that Regis always had. He planted in Wulfgar’s head that yes, Drizzt and Cattie-Brie did meet, but...they also kissed?! The eff? And that made Drizzt and Wulfgar get into a fight for NO DAMN REASON, but at least they laughed about it. So everything was going well until they went to the Underdark and fell into a trap set up by Vierna and Artemis, and Drizzt got caught. I mean, it was one painful reunion because of Vierna slapping Drizzt and bringing up Zaknafein to hurt him (and it did).

Then Drizzt and Enteri got into a fight but they didn’t get to a conclusion, and the last fight of theirs happen on the edge of the mountain thing I believe, and Artemis fell to his “death” like I wanted, but the fool is alive, and Wulfgar didn’t make it. Thanks to a yochol eating him after he stepped in and tried to save Cattie-Brie, who nearly got eaten.

I hated the way Wulfgar had to go. I really didn’t want him to go out the way he did, and I feel like we won’t see him again in the books, though I feel like we will. But the way he went-inside the yochol’s mouth-I hated it. And Drizzt making a vow to only raise his swords in defense and had to kill if he had to, all because he broke a vow to himself that he will never kill his kind ever again. That little passage made me pause a bit and I’m kinda glad he made that vow to himself, because that shocked the hell out of me, like I was stunned about it, so very stunned.

But Vierna dying the way she did because she wanted to sacrifice Drizzt, being a power-hungry bitch, hurts, but sometimes you have to tell the people in your family bye, throw up the deuces and go live your life. I honestly liked Vierna, but then she got her powers back and tried to get Drizzt, but failed in the end.

Speaking of the end...MATRON BAENRE. THAT TWO THOUSAND YEAR OLD DARK ELF THAT SHOULD BE DEAD, BUT OH NO, SHE’S ALIVE. And she has the tooth of one Gandalug Battlehammer, AND HIS SPIRIT. Like...WHAT THE FUCKETY FUCK MY DUDE. I enjoyed all of the action, but the book broke the hell out of me and I’m sad about Wulfgar and want to send Enteri STRAIGHT TO FLORIDA WITH DIO.

Book Review: The Halfling's Gem (The Legend of Drizzt #6) by R.A. Salvatore

Okay, this book...has nearly torn me apart, made me jump and jerk a bit, and it also made me worry for Regis as HE GOT KIDNAPPED BY ARTEMIS ENTRERI.

But before I start yelling into the void about that, let’s go on with my book review.

So as I said, Regis is kidnapped by Artemis Entreri, and is going through hell. So Drizzt and Wulfgar went after him after leaving the Harpell’s mansion. They follow Entreri’s trail towards Calimport, where Regis is brought to Pasha Pook. But before they can even do that, they have to go visit a banshee named Agatha to get a mask for Drizzt, since people are still kinda bullshittingly scared of drow. They went to visit the village where Agatha is haunting. They ask where the banshee was hiding and they go to her. They had a little fight with her, and then they grabbed her mask and off to Calimport they go.

Though when Drizzt put on the mask, he looks like a surface elf, and I saw the battle waging within him each time he puts on the mask, until he went underground and took it off. I have to say, when the mask slipped off on the boat, I got worried that the captain was going to throw him off because of the color of his skin, but then after the men on the boat came up and said that yeah, the drow scares me, but at the same time he saved our asses, so I’m okay with the drow on the boat (they had to fight pirates thanks to the wizard doing the ‘Now All Of China Knows You’re Here’ meme)

But I’d never thought I’d see the fear in Regis’s eyes when he saw Pasha Pook again. I got worried about him because Pasha is a horrible piece of shit that needs to die, and I really don’t care about Lassiter or Rassiter, and I’m glad Entreri killed him. But then when Pasha sent Drizzt, Wulfgar, Cattie-Brie, and Bruenor to the other plane called Tarterus, where Catti-Brie NEARLY dies, but the good thing is that Drizzt saved her, AND THEY SHARED A TENDER KISS (actually Drizzt tenderly kissed her, though he’s still battling his feelings for Cattie-Brie, even though she’s with Wulfgar, and she was unconscious).

But the one thing I loved throughout the book was Bruenor Battlehammer surviving the fall thanks to Drizzt’s sword, Icingdeath. He fought his way back, but if it wasn’t for the Lady Alustrel’s help, then no more Bruenor.

But I was wondering where Guenhwyvar was, because we see bits and pieces of her in the book. But it turns out Artemis had her, and he gave it to Pasha, but even he couldn’t even control her as she took Regis to the astral plane, and she also helped him with the wererats problem by taking him to some other cats and let them loose at the wererats.

I really did enjoy this book and I am gonna read all of them (i ordered some more for Christmas, so next year is going to be FANTASTIC) and with each book I read, I’m loving each and every bit of it.

Book Review: The Crystal Shard, a the Legend of Drizzt #4 novel by R.A. Salvatore

Once again. R.A. Salvatore has surprised me once again.

This book was so good in so many ways:

-The introduction of Wulfgar (aka my new boyfriend because HE'S SEVEN FOOT TALL)
-The introduction of Regis and Akar Kessell
-The demons Errtu and Crenshinibon
-The dragon Icewing Death and the making of Aegis-Fang
-Icewind Dale and how it was nearly destroyed

I really enjoyed this book so much. I got worried at some parts that made me go 'oh no' but other than that I enjoyed it so much that I'm debating (like I always do) to start reading more of this series, or take a break and read something else for a little bit. But then you're taken for a ride and everything just...I loved it so much that I might just go on reading the next book or just read something else, just to give this a little break before I pick it up again...Gaahhh I don't know but I'm going to think about it.

Book Review: Exile (The Legend of Drizzt #2) by R.A. Salvatore

Book Two of the Legend of Drizzt series, and I enjoyed this one. This book is a continuation of the first book, and it was fantastic, just like the many other books I've read written by Mr. Salvatore. Drizzt is exiled from his home, and his trying to live his life traveling along the Underdark. His family is after him, once again, and while that was going on, Drizzt is fighting wizards, being a slave to yochols (which I shivered at because WTF), and befriending a clacker and becoming friends to a deep gnomes.

He even leaned the language of the gnomes, which was fun and enjoyable to read.

But the one thing that pisses me off more is when Matron Malice-that bitch, I fucking can't stand her and I'm so glad that she's dead, though I pissed that Dinin is alive-brought back Zaknafein and thought she could control him, but um, that did't work. He sacrificed himself and went back to the spirit world, never to return, and Dinin and my messy son Jarlaxle Banere (whom I love so, so much , and that I'm hoping he'll show up (newsflash, he is and I'm so excited) made a deal to get Drizzt soon, but not now, later, maybe soon.

And then he walks out of Menzroberranzan, never to be seen ever again, to finally go to the surface, just like in the next book, book 3.

I loved this book so much, and I'm so glad I've read his story in the first three books, and now I'm gonna read the Crystal Shard tonight (among my many other books I have on my currently reading list).

Book Review: Homeland (Legend of Drizzt #1) by R.A. Salvatore

This book is the first book of the Legend of Drizzt series, and the first book of the Dark Elf Trilogy...and holy crap Mr. Salvatore this is a beautiful book. I've had so many feels while reading this book, I got worried about Drizzt in the book, and also I got worried about his father, Zaknafein. Like all I want is a book with just Drizzt and Zak, being father and son, and living happily together, far away from Menzoberranzan and their political bullshit and the backstabbing that could make Andy Cohen blush.

Here this book is about the life of Drizzt when he's living in Menzoberranzan. From his birth to him killing Masoj, the only Dark Elf he ever killed, to meeting his cat Guenhwyvar. We also meet his famiily-Matron Malice, Briza, Vierna, Maya, Dinin-and I don't give a flying fuck about them. All of them can rot in hell for all I care. I hated the so much-okay, maybe I liked Vierna and Rizzen, those two can stay with Drizzt and Zak. The others can fucking die in a sewer and I wouldn't give a fuck about them-they can just die for all I care.

But this book made me worry, I think I nearly had anxiety just reading this beautiful book almost made me cry, for many reasons:

1.) Zak's sacrifice so Drizzt can live because that bit was bullshit
2.) Matron Malice hunger for power-like seriously, bitch, calm the fuck down, be glad you're the fucking ninth house and calm your tits.
3.) The beatings Drizzt got made me so damned mad, even though I know that's how they live and do things, but fuck those snake whips, they look like it hurt like hell and he dealt with it
4.) Drizzt saving the surface elf from his kin-the sweetest thing my boyfriend have ever done, and I'm glad he left that horrible place. I wouldn't survive Menzoberranzan, even if I was a drow/dark elf.

Book Review: Sojourn, a Legend of Drizzt novel by R.A. Salvatore

Book three of the Dark Elf Trilogy...I enjoyed myself-this was a good book. It was slow at first, with him trying to get to know the Thistledown children before he had to hide, but then he avenged their deaths when the fucking barghest came, took the form of the drow (possibly him) and killed him with his own scimitar, and Drizzt and Guenhwyvar killed them (there were two), then he left the village to go somewhere else to live, all the while being chased by Roddy McGristle, whom I hated so much because all he wanted was to kill Drizzt and in the end he didn't.

We get to meet new characters-Montolio DeBrouchee, a blind hermit ranger who follows Mielikki, Burenor Battlehammer, and his daughter Catti-Brie. Along with other characters like Kellindil and Dove Falconhand, I honestly enjoyed this book so much (and can’t wait till next year to dig into the books I ordered and read the moment 2020 gets here). I enjoyed the book, the action was beautiful and I was happy when Catti-Brie and Drizzt became friends, even though she had to defy Burenor to do it.

I honestly didn’t like Roddy, mostly because he went after Drizzt, swearing up and down that he killed the Thistledowns (which wasn’t the case) and yes Drizzt cut his ear off and had to kill the dog because he attacked first while Drizzt couldn’t speak a lick of English. But to just put all the blame on one person instead of listening to reason, letting you go down this horrible road to Drizzt only to be turned away-that’s what you get, honestly. A Fantasy Book Haul and a New Blog Annoucement!

Hey y'all!

Since Saturday I didn't have a D&D game, I decided to go to Barnes and Nobles (my third home after Cinderella's Castle at Magic Kingdom and my house) because I had a itch for some new books. because after reading Johannes Cabal, I was in a book rut. So I went and brought these amazing books that might hopefully break me out of my reading slump.

The Assassins's Blade: The Throne of Glass Novellas by Sarah J. Maas

I'm a huge fan of Sarah J. Maas and her two book series, Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses, and I've wanted to get the whole book series so bad after I've read Throne of Glass twice (might read it the third time). This is the beginning of the Throne of Glass novels (along with the others) and with Tower of the Dawn (Chaol's book? AWE YISSSSS) coming out really soon, I thought I get a hop on reading the series again, starting with The Assassins's Blade, and I'm currently reading it right now and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. 

Crown of Midnight: A Throne of Glass Novel by Sarah J. Maas

The second book of the Throne of Glass novels and I can't wait to read this one-also this book series actually gave me some inspiration for my current character I'm playing in Storm King's Thunder, Elektra Nightbreeze, my wood elf rouge assassin (and I'm not good like Liam O'Brien who plays Vax'ildan on Critical Role).

The Legend of Drizzt Book II: Exile by R.A. Salvatore

Now I couldn't leave B&N without grabbing my favorite drow and my favorite fantasy author! They didn't have the first book of this series (I didn't ask that's why) but I picked up this one and I have a feeling it's gonna be fantastic, especially with those Illithids that Drizzt's about to fight...

The Legend of Drizzt Book III: Sojourn by R.A. Salvatore

HAD TO GET THE THIRD BOOK. Because who dosen't wanna read more about our favorite drow ranger and his awesome panther Guenhwyvar? And yes, this is them coming into the light for the first time EVER and I can't wait to read this!!!

So my new blog annoucement (well it really isn't a new blog, I just haven't used it in a very long time)

Book Review: Sea of Swords by R.A. Salvatore

Once again, R.A. Salvatore has not disappointed me (okay, on some parts he did and sometimes I have to curse him-I kept screaming 'NO, NO, NO!' throughout the book, close to the end) BUT I enjoyed the ride and I loved each character, though for the love of god, I got mad at Le'lorinel for being obsessed with Drizzt when Drizzt didn't do a DANG OL' THING to her, but it was sad in the end that she had to die and Drizzt morning her in the end.

The one part that semi-ticked me off was Wulfgar. He's on the ship Sea Sprite, looking for the pirate ship Bloody Kneel to get Aegis-fang back. But he was like, 'Well, I don't know if I should get it, I have a wife and a daughter and I wanna protect them by doing the right thing.' and honestly? I wanted to THROW THE BOOK TO THE WALL. This wasn't the Wulfgar I've read, the Wulfgar that had Aegis-fang and would do anything to protect his family and have adventures with his friends. But then I read that he slapped Catti-brie...I WANTED TO HIT HIM SO HARD IN THE HEAD. SO BADLY. But Bruenor Battlehammer did it for me which I got happy about.

BUT I was happy to see Regis and Catti-brie in this book (since the last book I've read about Drizzt pissed me off to high heaven), but I keep aweing at the cute relationship between Drizzt and Catti-brie...though I keep picturing Bruenor with his axe behind him like 'Don't do it, ye durned elf!' though I tweeted a quote from Catti-brie that said, 'Did ye ever think ye should just shut up and kiss me?' and I was WAITING for these two to kiss-WAITING. But sadly they didn't (in which in my head I cursed R.A. Salvatore for making me wait).

But I loved this book, I enjoyed it and would love to read more about Drizzt and the Companions of the Hall because it was awesome and amazing and I really do recommend this book a lot!!!

Book Review: The Ghost King (Forgotten Realms: Legend of Drizzt #19) by R.A Salvatore

So...this book tho....it was amazing....BUT THE ENDING DONE MADE ME MAD. Why did this book make me mad? Then keep reading the review to find out...

To start off the book, Catti-Brie goes into a weird trance THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE ENTIRE BOOK, which ticked me off, really. In one scene, she thinks she's petting Guenhwyvar and in another, she thought she was in a room with Drizzt, giving him her heart when she was with Wulfgar. I think Drizzt almost shed a tear every single time she went through this trance, but thank god for Jarlaxle.

Speaking of Jarlaxle.....WHERE THE DEUCE DID YOU COME FROM, BRUH? Like...everything was fine, hunky-dory, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU SHOWED UP WITH THE FRIGGIN' EYEPATCH FOR DRIZZT, EVEN THOUGH THE STUPID DRAGOLICH IS AFTER YOU. But in all honestly, you did a good job.

BUT YOUR FRIGGIN PARTNER, ATHROGATE? Dude, SHUT UP WITH YOUR RHYMING SELF BEFORE I FIND SOMEWAY TO THROTTLE YOU. But you were awesome too.

And that stupid illithid? Yharaskrik? He thought he could control Hephaestus, but sadly he couldn't. He, along with the Crenshinibon, molded with the dragon to turn him to the Ghost King, and the only thing Hephaestus wanted with Jarlaxle (apparently Jarlaxle did something to him that the dragon wants revenge?) BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN, DID IT? Nope, because Drizzt, in the last and final battle, crack through the side of the Ghost King and TORE HIM UP IN THE INSIDE. LIKE....I CAN'T WITH THAT.

But Danica and Cadderly's children fight so well as well (though I can't remember their names at the moment).

BUT THE ENDING. THE ENDING JUST....MADE ME MAD. SO MAD. WHY DIDN'T SHE DIDN'T SHE STAY WITH HIM? AND YES I'M YELLING AT HER BECAUSE SHE'S A DING DONG FOR LEAVING DRIZZT! INCLUDING REGIS, DINGUS DAMMIT!

But I loved the book as usual.

HOLY CRAP I haven't done one of these in so long! Mainly because my camera had been getting on my nerve and that the only camera that I have is my cellphone :( So today I went to the library and checked out some new books and I though I share with you what I got :)
