Good lord this miscommunication trope nearly KILLED me in this volume, but OMG the (view spoiler)[golden core story (hide spoiler)] and how painful it was...I nearly cried. And WEN NING IS BABY, he deserves everything, including A-Yuan. And I did crack up laughing when they meet up again, and also Lan Zhan got drunk and did everything Wei Wuxian did when he was younger was also very funny. I truly enjoyed this so much.

This book hurt my soul in ways I didn't think it would hurt my soul.

I tried to prepare myself when it comes to this book. I tried so hard to prepare myself. Instead, I jumped in, knowing that I would be in pain the moment I opened the book, because the Guanyin Temple Arc was painful. I was even thinking about the show in my head as I read this book. But I really enjoyed myself. The sex scenes didn't take me out, even though it almost did. I was honestly giggling and kicking each time they got together.

The short stories that were in the book were actually pretty damn fun. I liked "The Incense Burner", "Gate Crasher", "Iron Hook" and "Yunmeng". Even though the eight stories were pretty great, those stories just stand out in my mind because I really liked reading them and I felt like I was there. "The Incense Burner" made me laugh because they were going through each other's dreams and they were getting much spicer and spicer the more I read it.

"Gate Crasher" and "Iron Hook" were my absolute favorites, mostly because of the juniors in it and how they were solving the mystery of these two ghosts and trying to figure out the origins and how they can solve the mystery, with both Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian or just Wei Wuxian, which I thought was pretty fun to read and to see the juniors solve a mystery with help from the both of them. If you ask me which mystery I liked the most, I have to say "Iron Hook", though "Gate Crasher" was pretty funny.

"Yunmeng" nearly made me cry because we get to see Yanli again, and Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng at home, along with "Lotus Pods"-that one might be my favorite as well because of the ending, when Lan Zhan started asking Xichen about things that Wei Wuxian likes to do, like eat lotus pods from the lotus roots with the longest stems or leaves or eat a watermelon rind.

I'm sad that this series is over, but at the same time I'll be thinking about these books as I move on to a new series, Heaven Official's Blessing.

Book Review: Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation volume 3 by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

Reading this book and having SO MANY FLASHBACKS to The Untamed and going "oh no" with each page, knowing where this was going and how painful it was going to be. I almost cried at certain parts, and laughed at some parts. I even cheered when Yangli stood up to that guy whose name I've already forgotten because I hate his bloody guts.

And Wei Ying...poor Wei Ying...everyone hating him for what he did, and then everyone turning their backs on him because of what he did...ow. I felt sorry for him. Even when he and Lan Zhan met up again I just couldn't help but repeat the lines, Wei Wuxian!, Lan Wanji. Like it was like he said his name so calmly instead of shouting it like he did it in the book...ow my heart.

Reading how Wei Wuxian turned into the Yiling Patriarch almost made me cry, but also FUCK Wen Chao, and I'm glad he got what he deserves. Because I'm imagining what Wei Ying went through to start the Demonic Cultivation path...god that hurt. But now I cannot wait for the next volumes because I know they're going to be good, and also they might make me rewatch The Untamed again because goddamn this book was so good. Even the scene in the cave with Wei Ying and Lan Zhan in the cave cracked me up--and the shocking part when Wei Ying was blindfolded and Lan Zhan kissing him instead of the other way around. It was beautiful and it made me smile.

But my favorite parts is whenever Wen Ning showed up and just...just be baby. I love Wen Ning so much (as much as I love Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan). Wen Ning just needs to be protected at all cost.

OMG. I loved this book. Yes this book has some mistakes, but other than that I liked it. I just fell right back in and enjoyed the ride, laughing at some parts (especially all the Wei Wuxian parts). The thing that shocked me throughout the book is the fact that Lan Zhan talked a lot, when in the show he barely said a word. But I did crack up when he got drunk, acting like a child as he tells Wen Ning to go away, and Wei Wuxian trying to make sure Lan Zhan didn’t do anything.

When they meet Nie Huaisang after all this time, why the first thing that came to my mind was, “Hand over the pokemon and no one gets hurt!” and Nie Huaisang going, “Okay, okay, take it easy, take it easy!” just cracks me up-it was so good. Then the whole thing with Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng…that’s an ooof, tbh. I knew the grape/Jiang Cheng hated Wei Wuxian, but to be that cruel to him (and Wei Wuxian giving out Mo Runyu’s name and not his real one)

But other than that, I really liked this book. It made me laugh, made me go ‘damn’ that one time when Lan Zhan told the seniors to drag him inside the house. Wei Wuxian became a favorite once again, and now I like the juniors and also Nie Huaisang, also I like the photo of Nie Mengjue-very different than the one from the show. He looks very handsome and hot, and I like that.
