Mini University Haul

Hey y'all!

So I decided to do a very long (and very overdue) book and school/uni haul, because tomorrow is my last and final day of freedom before I head off to my first day of classes on Monday. So for this blog post I decided to haul (well, a mini haul) of what I'm taking to school Monday (and to tell you the truth, I'm nervous about it!)

Like most girls, I needed a new Agenda, and thanks to my school's bookstore, I FINALLY brought a Lily agenda, and I fell in love with it the moment it arrived on my doorstep. I just HAD to look through it and saw all the colorful things in it, and knew that I was going to love it SO MUCH and I do-I still do. I'm so glad that I snapped it up at my school's bookstore because I wasn't going to go to school with a lame agenda.

My new shoes for the year-I needed some new ones and I'm glad I got these. And these are Water-Proof (I think they're the Weather ones where your feet are protected by anything?) and I just love the color. Now the problem is, which shoelace do I want on there-the green or the white, to make it awesome? And on top of that I'm on the hunt for some blue ones to represent school/NYG.

Yeah, this is self-explainetory...I just wanted some Kate Spade pens to take to school with me. And I have been eying these for a LONG time.

Just like the Kate Spade pens...I needed a new backpack, and I wasn't gonna show up in a really old backpack that was decorated with bands I don't even listen to that much anymore, and including a huge messed up Heartagram (I was a huge HIM fan back then when I saw "Wings of a Butterfly". And I had a thing for Ville Valo (still do).)

Each time I see these mugs, I always wanted one...and now I have one and I love it-and it's PINK. It's gotta get washed, but I think I can use it at the coffee shop when I get the craving for coffee (not like Dan though).

Staples 1"in Binders-$8 but buy three $6

I wanted to, mostly because I wanted something fun and not boring (though I need more) but I find these really cute and got them-the top one's for my Brit Lit class, and the other ones (they're both colorful llama ones) are gonna be my Spanish and Geo notebooks. I don't know what I'm going to do for my other two classes, but I'll figure it out.

And that's it! What are you taking to Uni/College? Are you anxious like I am?

One More Week Before My College Life Begins.

(from Pintrest)

Hey y'all!

I know, you're expecting a book review instead of all these personal posts, but I felt like it because this week is the last week before I offically become a Georgia State Panther (I already am though) and my classes will begin...and I'm a bit terrified about it. I mean, sure I got almost everything I need (just need my textbooks, notebooks, agenda, pens, and a really cool bookbag) and I'll be fine, ready to crush my Junior year of college.

Oh Gersh HI BLOG

Hey y'all....

Haven't talked to y'all in what, two months? Two months. Good lord, it has been two months, mostly because I've been busy with getting into school, going to orientation, getting into classes and also about to deal with my financial issues and also..something that I'm finding really hard to say, but....

I have diabetes. Type 2 diabetes.

At first I got scared because when I heard the word diabetes, it meant that I had to stop eating what I loved and started eating healthier-which I thought it was, but it turned out I can still eat whatever I wanted, only that I had to eat in portions. I even cried on Sunday when I was trying to figure out what to eat and I had to go to the store and find something to eat for dinner.

I also feel like I should do one of those What I Eat in a Day posts like they do on YouTube, but with photos and maybe some recipes if I'm up to it.

Also I am finally going to be a junior in three weeks when school starts, and I think that'll shock me to the core-soon I'll be done with college and school and going into the workforce, getting a job, possibly living in downtown atlanta or in NYC or somewhere like that to write for magazines or even be in publishing or something like that. Because I love my home now, but living by myself, in a huge apartment? It'll take some time to get used to (and on top of that I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE) but I think I can do it.

So that's all I have right now until I think of something else to write about in my next post (when I get a chance)

My Two-Month Break and What I've Been Up To (Part Two-Photo Heavy)

Hey y'all!

So on to part two of my two month break of blogging! It wasn't that much-more reading, going to the library...but I did take a college tour of my future school, Georgia State University. It was a long walk-and a very large school in downtown Atlanta, but I actually loved it-and I fell in love with the library-sadly I didn't take photos of the library, but I did take photos of the outside of it (and it has 7 floors!!)

(sadly no one was playing this lovely piano :( )

(I would live there forever)

(yeah sorry about the blurryness of the bathroom)

Even though it was tiring, it was actually pretty much fun. And then after that I brought a video game (Dishonored 2) and read a lot, and then wrote a couple book reviews (which will be coming up tomorrow after this post).

My Two Month Break and What I've Been Up To (photo heavy-Part One)

Hey y'all!

So for about two months I've been on break from posting anything-any book reviews, anything on Valentine's Day, even changing the background of my blog-I've just been too busy reading, going on college tours, writing a lot, and even playing video games. So what have I been up to lately? Well, let's see....

In January, I finished up Crooked Kingdom, all three books of the School for Good and Evil books by Somani Chainani (I know there's a fourth one and I'm going to get it really soon), Savannah Breeze by Mary Kay Andews (my first book I've read by Mary Kay Andrews and it was really, really good), and read the last book Jackie Collins ever wrote, The Santangeleos, which was a ten out of ten stars. But also in January, as ususal, stores started putting up Valentine's Day things and I, a single gal, just looked at it and went 'okay' and rolled my eyes at it.

Also in January, I flew on a plane (actually I flew in December to Fort Lauderdale for the first time) and this is me and my daddy looking at the plane (not our plane) leaving to fly off somewhere. But we flew to Miami Beach (or more precisely, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida) and it was fun-went to a few casinos, but didn't win that much money at all.
(Outside my airbnb because it was so beautiful that night in Sunny Isles Beach, FLA)

On our last day in Florida that morning, we went to Denny's to eat, then walked on the beach in Miami. We didn't dip our toes in the water (my brother almost did, but it was too windy to do it) so we stayed on the beach till it was time to ride back to the airport to go home, but we did ride around Miami to see the sights-and the cruise ships as well!!!

Even though I traveled, there is something else I'm very happy I did and proud to announce...I'm FINALLY GOING TO COLLEGE. I applied to Georgia State University in the beginning of the year and I waited till last month when they sent my acceptance letter in, so now I'm officially a college girl (and Feburary will be in another post because that's the kind of girl I am!

Happy New Year!

If you're reading this blog post, then I wish you a happy and wonderful new year and 2018. I don't have any resolutions, all except applying and getting accepted to college/university, then moving out to start living in the dorms and such, along with finally getting my driver's licence and getting my own car. Also I'm planning on reading a lot in 2018, wheather it's books I have to read for school or for pleasure. And also, though I deleted it, I'm thinking of making another personal blog again, just this time just strictly about my life, though I know darn well that's not going to work, but we'll see.

Best of 2017-Books, Music, D&D and Life

Hey y'all!

So sorry that I haven't blogged on here in a long time-I've been reading and not doing any book reviews (which is my fault and I'm sorry about that) so this is the last weekend of 2017 and I have to say, this have been the best year I've ever had. Not to say that last year and the other years were perfect, just that this year was the best year I think I ever had. It was filled with exciting things and it got me thinking about the new year. So what happened in the best year that was my life?

  1.  I finally graduated from Georgia Military College, and next year I transfer to a four year college.
  2. I've read over 27 books than what I posted on my reading challenge this year-currently reading Crooked Kingdom and I can't put it down.
  3. I went to my first country concert in a long time, the Flordia Georgia Line Smooth Tour 2017, and I enjoyed myself
  4. I went on a college tour of Emory University and it was LONG AF
  5. I flew on a plane for the first time on Sprint Airlines and I wanna fly to Texas now...because of Southfork Ranch...yeah that's it....
  6. My group finished up D&D, but I went on Roll20 and found more people playing D&D and even make some new friends along the way
(From Pintrest)

I'm ready for 2018, and honestly I don't wait it to end, but it has to-when a door closes, another one opens.

Dear Cold, GO AWAY

Nose running...throat hurting.....getting a headache....oh dear god no...I'M GETTING SICK

*If only I got sick this fabulously like Lady Mary but sadly I'm not. Because I'm thinking that I don't wanna get sick god dang it.

I don't get sick-well, I try not to. But since it got hot and it's a bit cold in my house, I'm starting to feel sick, which sucks. So I might just chill, finish reading the Brothers Cabal and also finish bingewatching...

*yeah i can't stop watching this show have no idea why

Definally need to finish watching this

...and finish watching this before Defenders come out

I wish this cold of mine can go away but I'll just have to wait and take some medicine (or all the medicine) to get better.

"Wherever You Go, Go With All Your Heart."-Confucius

Hey y'all and welcome back to my blog!

So I haven't posted ANYTHING lately because I've been busy with my last two classes and worrying about graduating....but as of now, 5/20/2016....I AM OFFICIALLY A GRADUATE.

It took me three years to finish Georgia Military College...and now I'm offically finished with this school and now going to try and transfer to Kennesaw State University so I can start my BA in English and possibly minor in Mass Communications or French-and PRAY TO THE GODS I DON'T HAVE TO TAKE MATH AGAIN. But I have a feeling I will (dammit) BUT that'll be fine with me! I'm also going up to Macon this weekend for two things-a graduation and a wedding dinner or reception (something like that) and while I'm at it I'm going to be posting two book reviews of the books I'm done reading and try to finish my first read of Little House of the Pairie, called "On the Shores of Sliver Lake" (in which I will try very hard not to rename this blog after that book...though it's gonna be hard because I really want to)

SO CHEERS TO ME GRADUATING NEXT SATURDAY!!!!!! BECAUSE I NEED IT-A LOT.

The Novel I'm Working on Wattpad: The Lucky Ones

Even though the book cover sucks (I tried my best) I'm finally writing a novel on wattpad (I know, it took me long enough to do it) and if you wanna read it-click here to read it!!

But honestly, I've been planning this story since last month, when I was bored and something wanted to come out. So I did some story planning, then the characters, then the outline, and then last night I wrote and posted chapter one of this story that was originally called "After Andrew", but then I ended up changing it to The Lucky Ones because After Andrew just didn't sit right with me.

That's the original book cover (which also sucks-and the first one I did, actually) and I know it's not any better too (though Bradley Cooper came out pretty good). BUT I think I'll introduce the characters in my story:

  • Jennifer Love Hewitt as Rebecca Washington
  • Kate Winslet as Bethany Mitchell
  • Dan Stevens as Morgan Coleman
  • Bradley Cooper as Bradford Scott
  • Eric Winter as Andrew Crawford
  • Amber Heard as Caprice Kelly Crawford
  • Jessica Simpson as Olivia Anderson
  • Colton Haynes as Trenton "Trent" Kelly

Art Appreciation: A Hero for WondLa by Tony DiTerlizzi

As I read this beautiful and wonderful book, I couldn't help but take two photos of the book's artwork (and the deco-pages...couldn't help myself....)

Beautiful. Just...beautiful.

The artwork in the beginning of each parts.

Jane Austen Week-Tag Answers

So it's Jane Austen Week on Naomi's blog, and I thought I do the lovely tag :) Sooooooooooo let's get started!!!

1. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a Jane Austen fan do you consider yourself? A bloody 10
2. If "they" would make a new Jane Austen Movie, and you would be able to be cast in it, which Jane Austen character would you most like to play? Elizabeth Bennet
3. Is there any felicity in the world superior to a walk? I hate saying this...but yes. I'm not much of an outside person, nor do I like taking them. I'm more of a read blog post, write blog posts, and watch Netflix/YouTube videos
4. Who's your favourite Jane Austen 'villain'? (As in 'villain' meaning 'the bad guy.') Can Mr. Edward Ferrars go in this corner? Please? For what he did to Elinor.
5. What/Who introduced you to Jane Austen? Ironically....a girl named Trai who ran the blog 'reader girl' (I believe-I still follow her on tumblr to this day) and I've been reading them ever since
6. Did you love/enjoy Jane Austen immediately, or has there been a time when you hated (um, prejudged) it? I loved it immediately, though I wanted to throw the book to the wall for half the things the villans did
7. Who, in your opinion, is the funniest Jane Austen character? Emma. Hands down.
8. Do you quote Jane Austen randomly in public? No...not really. But I need to
9. Are children allowed to eat cake on weddings? Yes...but just a little bit
10. What is your reaction when you hear that an aquaintance (e.g. A lady at Church) of yours loves Jane Austen? I was shocked to hear that someone loved Jane Austen. We started to talk (while I was reading Sense and Sensability)
11. Who writes better letters, Mr Darcy or Captain Wentworth? (If you forgot what the letters were, shame on you, instead tell me if you prefer Strawberries to Chocolate or not.) Mr. Darcy
12. Which Jane Austen heroine do you relate the least to? I don't know...this ones hard....
13. What's your favourite Jane Austen house (from one of the movies)? Pemberley
14. What's your favourite Jane Austen dress (from one of the movies)? Catherine Moreland's dress
15. Can you turn off lit candles with your fingers?nope

Time To Abuse My Netflix: Gilmore Girls

I have a feeling this is turning into a personal blog, but then again I don't care....

BUT ANYWAY, this isn't what this post is about.

If you haven't heard (and you lived under a rock for a couple of days now), Gilmore Girls are getting a reboot on Netflix (uh....YASSS) but there's a little problem (namely me)....

I HAVEN'T ACTUALLY SEEN IT.

Sure, I've seen a couple episodes of this show (including a season that had Sebastian Bach from Skid Row in it...oddly, I had a crush on him...SUE ME, OKAY?!) But I've never actually sat down and watch this show-and since the Georgia Bulldogs aren't playing this weekend, I thought I sit down and watch this show. I often find myself comparing myself to Rory Gilmore (because she reads a lot like  do) but at the same time eat a bunch of popcorn (something I do a lot when I watch these shows.
